I mean, I started to write a response to it, but concluded it wasn't worth the time...

Carry on.

Great post. Can you believe over 50% of the country voted this way in the presidential election?!

Why I voted Libertarian...

Because Republicans think they are Morally Superior...

Democrats think they are Intellectually Superior...

But mostly so I can sleep soundly at night...

The mania for giving the Government power to meddle with the private affairs of cities or citizens is likely to cause endless trouble, through the rivaly of schools and creeds that are anxious to obtain official recognition, and there is great danger that our people will lose our independence of thought and action which is the cause of much of our greatness, and sink into the helplessness of the Frenchman or German who expects his government to feed him when hungry, clothe him when naked, to prescribe when his child may be born and when he may die, and, in fine, to regulate every act of humanity from the cradle to the tomb, including the manner in which he may seek future admission to paradise.
- Samuel Clemens "Official Physic"

Cute, but the real reason most people voted democrat this go-round was because the GOP fucked up so royally for the previous years. That leaves democrat as the other party by default.

Maybe one day this country will get some fucking sense and try to work in a 3rd + option instead of bitching when their party loses after fucking the pooch for [insert years ruled here].

True, but you can't blame everything on the Republican party. Democrats have controlled the House and Senate for a few years, and had the presidency for 8 of the last 16 years. I agree the GOP screwed up royally, but Democrats are equally at fault.

There is no excuse to vote for a socialist like Obama.

No, but for the last 6 of 8 years, we had total GOP domination. they fucked up.

So now the shoe gets on the other foot, and the democrats will get their turn to fuck up. Wash rinse repeat.

There is no excuse to vote for any of the status quo parties, unless you want status quo.
