Didn't, it was a drive by from the township codes guy, who then told me to get my rear end up to the Twp building and get a permit.

I agree that the app fee seems excessive, and the local fee is just like rubbing salt in the wound, but I just don't see this as where you make your stand on fees.

Interesting... I am on my 7th renewal, and I have never been asked that question. I guess different things on different days. What do Rose Valley, Middletown, Chadds Ford and Thornbury answer? I guess they have to say, we don't have no stinking local police. Since the woman in Delco has been there 28 years, you would think she knows all the township police by now. But anything written is possible. I'm sticking with my guess that Villanova is not a town, but a Postal code, and she knew that.

As per fees for township permits. I can tell you, as a past elected official, that these fees are to protect you from contractors that occasionally pray on the neighborhood. With that paving fee, you covered your self and can invoke a whole series of liability claims against said contractor if the need arises.

could well be. I think one guy was from Drexel Hill, I don't recall the others, certainly Wayne covers two counties (Del and Chester) as does Radnor (Del and Montco) among others, for sure.

had zero issue with the twp fee. Always happy to pay my fair share, and the Aston guys have always worked well with us on any issues we've had. I'm a firm believer in being a good neighbor in the township, as we're surroinded by residential, and a church and school.

If the sheriff makes the argument that the township or local municipality information is crucial to his findings, and that you obstructed that by not being willing to pay the fee, then he can certainly deny the app.

Who do you think will blink first.

I'm no expert at this stuff so anyone who knows for sure please chime in.

Isn't there a set list of things that cause you to be denied for your LTCF? I'm not certain on all of them but I wouldn't think a domestic disturbance or anything else the local PD could supply would be sufficient to deny you your application.

That statute is too long to paste here...

I guess I should get to the bottom of this matter, so others don't have to pay for something that my taxes already cover.

I will find out who the idiot is that implimented the extra charge. It my take me a little time but I'll let you know. I will also see if I can do anything about getting it removed.

Yes I will OC right into their\my office.

Montgomery County asked for a local PD check as well - but without any fee.

Bottom line the process under the Uniform Firearms Act is supposed to be.... uniform. And its not - every county throws in their own little wrinkle.

Like any other add-on requirement from a municipality or county government entity it would seem to be a straight-up pre-emption violation.
