Default 870 Express Turkey for HD

This gun has a 21" ventrib remchoke barrel & a camo synthetic stock. W/ a rebate I can get this for $330. I realize that for HD an 18" tube would be handier, but how bad would a 21" be in confined quarters?

Default Re: 870 Express Turkey for HD

3" less handy? Put a + 3 magazine extension on it and call it good?

I have the 18" 870 tactical express with the extended breaching choke that adds an inch or so. Probably 20" overall. I can't see an inch making that much of a difference. You can always buy a new barrel for it if you want.

To HAVE but not be totally ideal > not to have.

If it has removable chokes all I can see is it being useful for more things than just blasting the bad guy that comes into your house. Which it will already do as it comes out of the box, with extreme prejudice.

Another option is to put a pistol grip on it. You take tons off the back end of the gun... I'm sure a pistol grip 21" is twice as wieldy as my standard stock 18".
