If there were no guns

If there were no guns no one would get shot. If there were no guns. So say those who wish guns were no more.

But there are guns. There are many, too many to eliminate them any time soon. Maybe, if there was enough money and enough time then all the guns could be rounded up and recycled into building materials or toaster ovens. Maybe take the next century?

The problem with any legislation that seeks to eliminate guns is that it is not practical. But to understand the anti-gun movement we have to look at why they want guns to disappear. The reason is simple. The anti gunners do not want anyone to get shot.

So if all the guns, a hundred years from now, were gone, what would the effect on society be? Simple. No one would get shot.

But they would get stabbed with knives. So the next idea would be to eliminate knives.

You see where this is going?

Ultimately, we will be left with sticks and stones. And people will get beaten to death on a regular basis. But wait. Sticks and stones are what we started with in the first place.

Does this make the anti-gunners anti-technology?

What a good idea! Ban different kinds of guns, set up a full gun registration system. then our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future! Let's think a minute here. How about "If there were no narcotic drugs, people wouldn't get high". Wait a minute, non prescribed narcotics are illegal, yet they're everywhere. Shows how well "bans" work, doesn't it?
