A good place to start would be emailing your reps in an effort to support your 2A rights.

Phil there is a small shop just north of Indiana (by Musser's off 119 N) that I go to. If ya ever want to check it out drop me a line I'll be more than happy to give you directions. He dosen't usally have a whole lot but the prices are right.

That being said I'd be more than happy to help out anyway I can too, even if I am a bit further away than Buster

They finish that road yet between the music building (can't remember the name) and Waller yet up there?

Hey, joe

What's the name of this place? I love visiting new shops and will do so if I'm in the the area.

BTW, just visited the shop in Jtown Tuesday that icefire mentioned and picked up a holster. Nice guys in there. Actually apologized for not having more time to chat, as they were pretty busy.

Default FIRST GUN

I'd echo what has already been said. Rent/shoot as many models as you can get your hands on before making your puchase. Take the courses offered with regard to safety, maintenance and shooting skills (worth every penny spent). Maybe consider starting out with a revolver due to their simplicity, ease of maintenance and reliability. Getting the permit for concealed carry is as easy as going to the sheriff's office in your county seat and getting the application. Good luck with your choice and be safe. Almost forgot..once you've made your puchase... practice, practice and more practice!!

Some caveats.

1. You must be a PA resident to buy a handgun in PA.

2. Even with a License to Carry, school property is off-limits (I have not found a definitive answer as top whether universities are included in this provision, but best to err on the side of caution.) Most universities have their own prohibitions regarding firearms on campus.

actually, there is an exception in the prohibition on carrying on school property for "other lawful purposes". CCWing with an LTCF is a lawful purpose.

Quote:
§912. Possession of Weapon on School Property.

(a) Definition.—Notwithstanding the definition of “weapon” in section 907 (relating to possessing instruments of crime), “weapon” for purposes of this section shall include but not be limited to any knife, cutting instrument, cutting tool, nun-chuck stick, firearm, shotgun, rifle and any other tool, instrument or implement capable of inflicting serious bodily injury.

(b) Offense defined.—A person commits a misdemeanor of the first degree if he possesses a weapon in the buildings of, on the grounds of, or in any conveyance providing transportation to or from any elementary or secondary publicly-funded educational institution, any elementary or secondary private school licensed by the Department of Education or any elementary or secondary parochial school.

(c) Defense—It shall be a defense that the weapon is possessed and used in conjunction with a lawful supervised school activity or course or is possessed for other lawful purpose.
regarding university regulations, if you are not a student or staff, all they can do is ask you to leave. if you are a student or staff, though, they may be able to expel or fire you.
