Default The Anti-gunners are hard at work... We need to be the same

Stopthenra.com is sending out email that read...

Quote:
Yesterday, we witnessed America's worst mass shooting on the campus of Virginia Tech. Thirty-three students and faculty were killed, including the gunman. At least fifteen more were wounded.

How many deaths and injuries must we endure before our nation's elected officials act to end gun violence? We must ask our leaders: "What are you going to do about it?" What are you going to do to make our schools, workplaces, and communities safe from gun violence?

President George W. Bush said yesterday that schools should be a place of "safety and sanctuary for every student," but he and other national leaders do nothing to ensure that safety. They provide condolences, and then do nothing to stop future tragedies.

Eight years ago this week, we watched in horror as students at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado fled a mass shooting. Twelve students and one teacher were killed. Just seven months ago, five girls were gunned down in a school in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

These aren’t isolated incidents. February 12, 2007, Salt Lake City: A teen opens fire in a mall killing five and wounding four. On the same day in Philadelphia: Three men fatally shot and a fourth wounded at a board meeting. January 11, 2007, Indianapolis: A man shoots four fellow employees. The list goes on and on.

There are common threads in all of these tragedies — it is much too easy for the wrong people to get high-powered, deadly weapons and our leaders fail to do anything about the problem.

It is urgent that you email or call your elected officials today.
They must hear that you want action to keep guns out of the wrong hands.

Please make as many of these phone calls as you can:

President George W. Bush 202-456-1414
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi 202-225-0100
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid 202-224-5556

The message for all three calls is simple:

It is much too easy for the wrong people to get deadly weapons in this country. It is time for you to take steps to end gun violence to prevent tragedies like the one at Virginia Tech.
If you can't make the calls, you can click here to send an email, which will go to the President, the Speaker, the Majority Leader, as well as your U.S. Senators and Representative. One click will email all six of them.

The Brady Campaign is working nonstop to get the message out that there are solutions to gun violence. We can ban military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips that make it so easy to kill quickly . . . we can require Brady background checks for all gun sales, including at gun shows . . . we can stop large-volume gun sales that supply illegal gun traffickers. These are just some of the steps we can take to make it harder for the wrong people to get guns.

We are building a crescendo of public outcry to ensure that action is taken. We are aggressively rallying support among allies for our solutions. And we need your continued support to make it happen. Please make a contribution now to keep the momentum going. When you do, a generous donor will match your gift.

Gun violence is a solvable problem. We know it won’t be easy. But we can make it harder for the wrong people to get their hands on guns through strong gun laws.

It is time for our nation’s leaders have courage to say "no" to the gun lobby's mantra of any gun, anywhere, at anytime for anyone, while wrapping it in distortions about "freedom" and "liberty."

Americans have the right to live free from the constant fear of gun violence. Please take a moment to forward this email to friends and families.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
Your Friends at StoptheNRA.com

We need to contact the same leaders they are and tell them this is not the answer!!!

I have sent an email to both Senators from the State of Oklahoma, and the Representative for my district in Oklahoma. I merely stated that I was looking to secure support for my ability as a law-abiding American to purchase, own, and legally use my firearm. I also emphasized that a national reciprocity would go a long way to help people not only feel secure, but help to provide security for others.

I also mentioned that the Lautneberg Amendment is a little overzealous in it's wording, and that by a couple having a heated arguement, could be charged with Domestic Assault (third degree) and as such, be convicted of a misdemeanor Domestic Assault, and the wording should be changed to be less broad.

I also did some butt kissing, Senator Inhofe has done some very good work for the military and veterans. Some of his domestic policies are good. Senator Coburn has distinguished himself as a good person who listens to what the people who elected him want. Dr. (Rep) Cole, M.D. is compassionate, and has been key on some very important issues of late.

Just the normal butt kissing.

I suggest that while we are consistent with our pleas to the lawmakers, we should also be sure to let them know that we are watching what they do. I ended with my usual signature block, SGT, USA etc..etc..etc...but added "Registered Voter from the State of Oklahoma". I know they will find out, but it is the truth and something I felt important.

WE CANNOT LET THEM WIN.

Sorry, I was so incensed I had to add my comments to theirs...Excuse the ramblings of a MadMan.

And so it begins......

Wake up People, Cause if you so much as own a Sharpened Pencil, Your rights to do so are being threatened by those that wish to take away Your Freedoms and Your Country.

The Anti-gunners are hard at work... We need to be the same (Sorry, My ranting is in Red – Stopthenra’s misguided letter appears in Black) -- Sorry the Red dosen't show up in the post, I pasted this from Word. So it probably dosen't make sense, But it makes me feel a little better.)

How many deaths and injuries must we endure before our nation's elected officials act to end gun violence? We must ask our leaders: "What are you going to do about it?" What are you going to do to make our schools, workplaces, and communities safe from gun violence? (Why should the Govenerment do something?? Why is it ALWAYS the Govenerment's responsibility with you people?? Maybe you should Arm Yourself and Protect Yourself, Your Family and those around you from those that wish you harm. Huh, Problem Solved.)

President George W. Bush said yesterday that schools should be a place of "safety and sanctuary for every student," (They pretty much are. take the number of schools in this country, times the number of violent crimes committed at schools and they end up being pretty safe. And they would be even safer if Law-Abiding citizens were permitted to carry firearms on those school grounds, Every single tragedy would have been minimized had a Teacher or even a Janitor had training/access to a firearm.) But he and other national leaders do nothing to ensure that safety. They provide condolences, and then do nothing to stop future tragedies. (Because you Liberal types won't allow them to do what needs to be done, Remove these mentally disturbed individuals from society, And even when they are put in prison, you see to it that they have 3 hot meals, a cozy bed, a gym to work out in and access to cable TV and Medical benefits that put Major Corporations to Shame, and then they are back among us because in your warp-twisted minds. they have been rehabilitated. Wrong, this may work in Star Trek, which in case you haven't noticed, Is a Fictional TV show. It is not real. Disturbed individuals can never be rehabilitated because they are DISTRUBED.Get that through your tiny little brains.)

Eight years ago this week, we watched in horror as students at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado fled a mass shooting. (Wasn't the Strictest Gun Control Measures to date in effect at the time this happened?? (AWB1994) Twelve students and one teacher were killed. Just seven months ago, five girls were gunned down in a school in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

On the same day in Philadelphia: Three men fatally shot and a fourth wounded at a board meeting. January 11, 2007, Indianapolis: A man shoots four fellow employees. The list goes on and on.

There are common threads in all of these tragedies (Yep!!..Mental Instability) — it is much too easy for the wrong people to get high-powered, deadly weapons and our leaders fail to do anything about the problem. (Is it?, Or is it more like those that commit crimes will lie, cheat and steal to obtain what they need to commit their crimes and prey on those that have been weakened because of organizations like this that get laws passed limiting our rights while increasing the rights of lawbreakers.)

It is urgent that you email or call your elected officials today.
They must hear that you want action to keep guns out of the wrong hands. (<<- Like Anti-Gunner Rosie O'Donnell's body guards? Why does she constantly voice her ignorant Anti-Gun opinions to the rest of us, yet she has Armed Bodyguards everywhere she goes. - what a Hippo-crite. Who is she anyway?)

Please make as many of these phone calls as you can:

President George W. Bush 202-456-1414
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi 202-225-0100 <<--- (Didn't this Traitor just return from a known Enemy of the USA..Syria?) -- She should be Tried/Executed as a Traitor to her Country for consorting with the Enemy.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid 202-224-5556

The message for all three calls is simple:

It is much too easy for the wrong people to get deadly weapons in this country.(Gee. it’s pretty hard for a Law Abiding citizen to obtain a firearm, Pages of Paperwork, Backgrounds checks, Privacy infringements and in most cases ..waiting periods. You mean the Criminals have easier access than I do to a firearm?? How??, You have had law after law passed to prevent this haven't you??) It is time for you to take steps to end gun violence to prevent tragedies like the one at Virginia Tech. (Thanks to the Mass Media Glorifying nuts like this with 24/7 Coverage, You will only continue to have
If you can't make the calls, you can click here to send an email, which will go to the President, the Speaker, the Majority Leader, as well as your U.S. Senators and Representative. One click will email all six of them.

The Brady Campaign is working nonstop to get the message out that there are solutions to gun violence.(Why hasn't The Brady Bill stopped gun Violence?? The Strictest Gun Control measures ever until they heaped the AWB94 on top of it.) We can ban military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips that make it so easy to kill quickly (Does it?? All Guns can kill, whether single shot, black powder or even a flint lock, Hammers can also kill along with Knives, Rocks and Cars, In fact more people die everyday due to those Evil Cars then ever have died in a single day from a mass shooting in the US.). . . we can require Brady background checks for all gun sales,(Duh?? This has been in effect for years. Even at Every single gun show I've ever attended.) including at gun shows . . . we can stop large-volume gun sales that supply illegal gun traffickers. (Huh?? You mean like Third World countries. I’ve never heard of something like this in the USA. And isn't the word "Illegal" already describing that a crime is being committed?) These are just some of the steps we can take to make it harder for the wrong people (By Wrong People you mean Law-Abiding US Citizens don't you?) to get guns. (Maybe we should go after the Psycho's such as the VT shooter that left a trail of just how mentally disturbed he was, or the Columbine shooters that left an almost identical trail. Jesus Christ you Liberals really live in a fantasy world. There are Millions upon Millions of Law Abiding Gun Owners World wide, Yet because some disturbed individual who should've been locked away in a nuthouse kills a few people, (Yes a few. over 3300 Americans have died in Iraq so Fools like you have the right to voice your misguided opinions.) and You want to immediately impose a Hitler/Stalin era regime on all the Law Abiding citizens. Last time I checked, My 2nd amendments rights were right behind your1st amendment rights to spiel off this misguided pro-socialist view.)

We are building a crescendo of public outcry to ensure that action is taken. We are aggressively rallying support among allies for our solutions. And we need your continued support to make it happen. Please make a contribution now to keep the momentum going. When you do, a generous donor will match your gift. (Always about $$$ isn't it?)

Gun violence is a solvable problem.(Yea, It's called Capitol Punishment for those that commit Violent Gun Crimes. A Speedy execution insures they'll never kill again.) We know it won’t be easy. But we can make it harder for the wrong people (Law Abiding Citizens) to get their hands on guns through strong gun laws. (You haven't in over 40 years of strict Gun Control. You have Failed because Gun Control is not and never will be the answer...Criminal Control is the Correct answer.)

It is time for our nation’s leaders have courage to say "no" to the gun lobby's mantra of any gun, anywhere, at anytime for anyone, while wrapping it in distortions about "freedom" and "liberty." (Yes, Gun Ownership IS a Freedom we in the USA enjoy that most other Nations don't...Move to a Gun Free Country if you don't like our Constitution.)

Americans have the right to live free from the constant fear of gun violence.(We also have the right to live Free from Communist/Socialist agendas such as this organization. That's what makes America Great and of course until you disarm the American public, You won't be able to Overthrow it, as clearly this is your hidden agenda, Thank God our Forefathers had the Common Sense and Intelligence that you lack, to prevent that from happening.) Please take a moment to forward this email to friends and families.

Thank you for your support.

Another email that it going around...

Quote:
Ask Our Officials: "What are YOU going to do about it?"

My heart continues to ache for the victims, their families, and the Virginia Tech community. After my husband was shot by a deranged man, our lives were never the same. But at some point, Jim and I decided to stop hurting and take action.

Eight years ago today was the horrific tragedy at Columbine High School. And in that eight years, no significant action has been taken in our country to prevent gun violence.

Elected officials continue to ignore our gun violence problem. It’s time for them to answer one question: "What are YOU going to do about it?"

We’re waging a campaign to ask our nation's leaders . . . the President, the Congress, the presidential candidates, state officials and local governments . . . asking them, "What are YOU going to do about it?"

32 people were murdered on Monday at Virginia Tech
32 people are murdered every day by gun violence in America

As a nation we must do better

A clever donor has started her own email campaign asking her contacts to contribute $32 or more today to help sustain our campaign to ask our nation’s leaders, "What are YOU going to do about it?"

What a great idea. Will you join her by making a gift today and asking your contacts to join you?

Right now, we are focusing on the Presidential candidates all of whom have been disturbingly silent on the issue.

Call those who want to be President, and ask them "What are YOU going to do about it? What we're doing now is not working. Doing nothing is not an option. Please take action now."

Your support is the life of our campaign. This is an unbudgeted project that can only be sustained with your generous support today.

We can no longer wait and we must take action . . . too many lives are being lost. So today, I respectfully ask, "What are YOU going to do about it?"

Warm regards and growing optimism,

Sarah Brady, Chair
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence

We should draw up a short (if it is to long they won't read it) letter and begin circulating it thru all of the e-mail addresses that each of us have, concerning our gun rights. I know most of my friends will forward it to their friends, and on, and on......

I have been sending the Polls to all my friends and family. I have sent addresses to write to Representatives. I have even wrote to those that I can't vote for, just so they here about it some more.

Anyone willing to draw up a nice letter with our views that we can copy into a e-mail and get it mailed out to the public so they will at least hear both sides???
