man i still havent even got my free hat and its been a year. i get plenty of mail asking for money. I got a phone call about the new gun ban(1022) not that i hadent known about it for awhile now.. and heard they will have to take the guns out of dead hands 3 times in 10 mins. No wonder people think the NRA is a bunch of gun nuts.

So they were asking for money again so i asked the person on the phone why the NRA never did anything about the gun ban in DC. She said they have so much time to and can not fight against every gun ban issue. When i said its funny that in the 20 plus years that ban was in place they couldnt find the time and i found it funny that one man got the ban repealed, she was speechless and went back to well if this bill goes threw they will take your shotgun and your 10/22

you say "don't expect anything in return" i dont get much now, never even got my free hat

in fact when my 5 years is up im gonna let mine lapse and get a free gift. not like im getting a free gift now.

all the head people of the NRA live in huge houses drive 40 plus thousand cars, fly all over if it was really about everyone they wouldnt be living like fatcats

give your money to the site you get more info here than from the nra

You guys have your priorities I have mine. I barely make 120 a week, my gun was purchased with gift money. My permit = potentially my life so I make that more of a priority than a donation, the NRA has many donators and benefactors. I'm all for supporting the cause but I dislike any NFP organization that requires a set donation but I can understand it to an extent. I to this day believe that there should be a basic NRA membership. No discounts, No insurance, No magazine, donate what you can.

Facts for me, not for all are simple, gas is expensive, bills are expensive, people think I'm crazy for donating what I do, NRA, Red Cross, soon to be PFOA and some other outreach programs. I donate what I can when I can for organizations I think do a good for others. If I didnt donate what I do, I could afford, beer, games, whatever. Right now at least for this last year of school I'm on a budget as I have been for the past 5 years now going through 2 different colleges.

I'm just saying when your doing everything on your own, then you have to make choices and balance returns. If you really want to think of it in the long run, by purchasing a life membership off the bat for example in the long run the NRA will get less money. I like the benefits for it so I plan on doing so when I get the money.

I had even considered the EPL membership this last time around but I do not know if I will be able to make each quarterly payment. What if that month for example I have to drive more, or get once again screwed on hours then what? Living paycheck to paycheck is not fun.

SKUGGI, DO WHAT YOU CAN, WHEN YOU CAN. I have been a Life Member since
1974. Your doing what you have to do and to me, you have your priorities
set correctly, "Get that Degree First". You are no stranger to hardwork and
sacrafice as well as discipline. The rest will come in time.
