so, my LTCF expired 2 days ago, and the damn procrastinator in me came out. I waited until 2 weeks ago to apply for my new license, so here i am waiting for that prick mullen to send me a new one.

Sheriff William P. Mullen was not elected sheriff. he was appointed acting sheriff when the old sheriff pete defazio got in trouble with the law.

Mullen has publicly stated that he will make it as hard as possible for allegheny residents to obtain a carry permit/guns.

under the old sheriff, renewals were issued on the spot. the new sheriff has instated an umpteen page questionnaire, and waits every bit of 45 days to send it out.

he has also added on more background checks than are required by the state.

i understand that as a sheriff who was not voted in he has the authority to do this, but what the hell gives him the right to make it more difficult for me to exercise my rights?

Yeah that seems to be the thing any county out side of Allegahny and Phili the sherriffs are awesome. But in those two its usually a different story because it is primarily democratic.

If you're registered with the Democratic party, please consider voting for Damon J. Brown for Sheriff in the upcoming primary election. He is pro-2A and would make CCW licenses as painless as possible in Allegheny County.

oh believe me he has my vote. I am also registered dem so that i can vote in the primaries. republicans dont win around here, so i figure i can at least have some say in who is in office.

I am (currently) registered republican, I plan on voting for Damon J. Brown. I am planning on changing for right now just to do this vote.
