don't give him credit he is not due.

skerry would not have been able to renew the ban either, since it never made it to the president's desk (not that i am any fan of skerry, but that's just the way it works).
You obviously don't know how things work if you really believe that. Bush made sure that the bill never made it to his desk with backroom deals. Of course he had to sound moderate by saying that he's sign it if it came across his desk.

Yes, Bush is an asshat in a lot of ways, but he's on our side on this one issue.

Bloomberg the "Republican" may be worse for gun owners than the two Dems you just mentioned. Guliani is not much better than Hitlery. McCain I don't know much about.

The patriot act? Just about everything in there erodes some civil liberty.

BTW is there a reason you are typing in all caps?

I always hate those maps that show Republican voters with the color red, and Democrat voters with the color blue. Come on, the color of the left is now and always has been red....

so you and sams819 are saying bush lied to the american people about this issue as well? (saying he would sign it when he really wouldn't have?)

sorry, while i am fully aware of how washington works, i am not going to buy your (conspiracy...hehe) theories on this one until i see some actual evidence thereof.

Not trying to be a dick but anyone can be defined as anything especially in inclimate political weather. "Terrorist" is just a new "Communist" but it's the same citizen witchhunt.

You don't have anything to hide now but under another Administration, you just might.

I always have something to hide. If for no other reason than my right to hide it until due process forces me not to.

There's a whole lot more criteria than just being a suspected terrorist. The last I looked, it is still classified till like 2032 or some year when I will not remember any of it.

It's not that I have nothing to hide, I just don't try to hide anything.

With whomever is in office next, it's a whole new ballgame. I have not been able to foretell the future, because unfortunately, the crystal ball they issued me has been turned in for maintenance.
