Smile Final Fantasy Weapons

Being a 3d animator myself, I dont know how many of you guys are into games at all, but in the game series "Final Fantasy" they have theese really really wicked handguns that are also a sword at the same time, and the barrel runs down the length of the sword, with the grip of the gun being the handle of the sword as well. Now this is a far stretch but does anyone know if any company has ever made a firearm along those lines? if your not into games and still are not understanding what im saying, picture a long bayonette on a handgun. Any thaughts?

They do actually make gun/knives combo.

They did an article on Guns & Ammo a while back.

I dont remember the brand or maker, and a quickie with google doesnt turn out anything.

As far as I know, it is a CZ only product, and while it may fit onto another rail equipped gun, you probably don't want to fire it as it may be bad...

That and I don't think attaching this to a poly frame would be a good idea either considering the stresses that would be involved if you actually tried to use the bayo...

I have seen glass punch kits that go on glocks.
To tell the truth, if your that close to the person attacking you, chances are your going to be shooting more then stabbing. Just the stress on the grip will have you shooting if your finger is on the trigger.

nah , nah...you guys are misunderstanding me. I do hear your logic about why it is not practicle. however, what im talking about, wich is different from the CZ attachment, would be more of a show piece than be used for actual defence...... , i just think the concept design is hot. i also attached some images about what i was talking about witch is fairly different than what i think you guys are thinking about.

Well, that sword is cool looking, but I don't think it'd be good at either job...

Problem is that when things like this were designed, compromise comes. Note where the blade attaches on the front of that revolver, that would be a major weak point to the strength of the blade... also not that the barrel is short on the revolver, if you have a blade that long, why not have a barrel that long? would help with velocity...

I know it's a fantasy weapon, but the point I bring up is that when someone tries to do this in the real world, those flaws become apparent... Not to mention how HEAVY that sword would be...
