Default New member here... questions on what to buy and price...

Hey guys,

I just signed up today after talking with one of my closest friends about guns and such. I own a Remington Model 7 .260 rifle and I'm pretty sure I want to get into the handgun market.

I was looking at a few guns online and pretty much fell in love with the Glock 38 and Glock 39. Unfortunately on their site they do not list a MSRP so I was wondering if those of you with more experience could give me some kind of an idea (which is better, and price) on which to purchase. I also kind of like (not as much as a Glock) Beretta's as well.

some info.: personal use for recreational shooting; carrying for hunting season..

thanks for your help!

If I had to choose between those 2, I'd get the 38. You can still conceal it, and you'll have a better grip on it.

Carrying for additional protection during hunting season or to actually hunt with? If to hunt you'll need to look in a revolver instead I believe. Something in .357 or .44mag would be good for hunting and the countering special version loads are good for personal defense outside of hunting season.

I haven't found a good revolver suitable for both duties though. Hunting revolvers benefit from longer barrels, some even scoped, that concealed carry weapons generally don't have.

Some people make their own [8^o

Personally I would shy away from 45 GAP as it didn't take hold, and you could find yourself with a great gun, but not viable supplies of ammunition. This has happened several times inthe past with various manufacturers.

Have you considered a regular 45 ACP Glock, maybe a compact model 30? (spec chart)
