I went to the school at HACC and you will shoot out to 25 yrds with presentation from holster and reloading from an empty firearm but no stopage drills.

The Psych test is about 500 Questions but its actually 50 questions asked differently to make 500 ?'s

It is a piece of cake so do not sweat it.

Of note... I had 3 former NY cops (2yrs off force) in my class and neither of them qualified. They kept yelling at Greg telling him that they were going to shoot how they were taught.

As I recall human silhouette targets at 7, 15 and 25 yards. 50 rounds total for qualification. If you do much range time you'll find this to be pretty easy and fun.

I took mine back in the 90's. At that time it was a physical (and eye test) I'm blind without my glasses, so I told my Dr to stand at the end of the office hallway. I acted like I drew my gun and with a 2 hand hold, asked him where I was pointing, he said "dead center of my chest". I asked if that was good enough to see to shoot someone and he said "you passed the eye exam". lol Got fingerprinted and had to take the psych test and eval by the Dr. after he checked the test. His comment to me after the interview was..."Mark, I feel more comfortable with you going around carrying a half dz. firearms, than a lot of cops that I've tested over the years." Anyway to answer your quest. in re to distances shooting at the range. It was 10 rounds at 7 yds. then another 10 rounds at 15 yds. and finally 5 rounds standing and 5 rounds kneeling at 25yds. This was conducted by a member of the PA State Police. I scored a 149/150 with my Colt Combat Commander, so I was happy. Good luck and always stay safe.
ps. sorry if the post was too long winded.

DaveM55 -- Mine wasn't all multiple choice! I had to sit and have a conversation with the lady!!! LOL! I just loved some of those questions. There was one on my test...something like "do you engage in any unusual sexual behaviors?" I wondered...unusual by whose definition? She said the test was developed YEARS ago so....I mean, they probably didn't have all the stuff then that they have now....it was probably considered unusual then to do some of the things people do now (which these days would be considered normal).
LOL, so I hope you didn't tell them you were thinking of the joys of autoerotic hanging, combined with men wearing stiletto heels, and shemale midget S and M. Oh yeah and don't forget the gun slut aspect: golden showers with Glocks, and leather holster fetishes.

20 Hours of classroom time. Test is simple if you take notes. 20 hours of range time. Easy if you are a shooter. Pistol at 7, 15 and 25 yards. Center mass targets. Instructors at HACC very informative.
