Default Carry while fishing?

Just a quick question to anyone who knows.

Is it legal to open carry while trout fishing? Conceal Carry? And in State Parks?

outside of state parks, the answer is yes.

in a state park, you will be breaking a DCNR regulation.

Yes you can open carry, concealed carry if you have a permit. The state parks questions is the fun one. Its against park regulations but nothing in the uniform firearms act. Test case anyone???

Agreed, but

I would carry concealed in a state park. Certainly not open. I'm not sure what a DCNR rule really means or if they really have the legal authority to police such a "law". Wonder if it's like "game law". Can't carry a semi while hunting or any firearm while bow hunting. BS I'll pay the fine.

We know state forests are ok.
What about fishing National forest or around any dike or dam? That's all fed. land.

as per section 11.223 of the DCNR regs, breaking a DCNR reg is a summary offense under section 7506 of the PA Crimes Code (relating to violation of rules regardgin conduct on Commonwealth property).

see: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/statepar...wrulesregs.pdf

(btw, section 11.215 details the regulation against carrying in a state park)

not any more you wont. you can now carry a semi while hunting...even bow hunting. that law changed early in this year (actually was passed late last year and went into effect early this year).

you can carry in national forests in PA. national forests leave it up to the state to make the rules regarding carrying in them. however, all national parks are no-carry regardless of the state. (the only national forest in PA is allegheny national forest.)

I posted that exact question today on the hunting thread because I heard that but could not confirm.

I did not know that about NF in pa. Not that it would have mattered much.
