Hey Budney,

My Colt AR-15 A3 has that stamped on it's receiver, as well as each of the high grade 30rnd USGI magazines I bought from CheaperthanDirt for it. I am pretty sure that what we are seeing is a left-over from the worthless 1994 Assault Weapons Ban. Someone let me know if I am wrong.

Yea those are just leftovers, the magazines for my USP's still say LEO/Military Only. The markings are just relics and mean nothing.

Not at the Wal Mart I go to. Occasionally, the cashier will ask if I'm 18 or 21 (depending on the ammo), and then continue the sale as normal.

I needed a driver's license and 3 utility bills (for proof of address) to buy a 10/22 a few years ago though.

Yes, my understanding is also that the LE restriction is now an anachronism and of no meaning...

You might, however, wish to place these magazines in a time capsule so that some day in the far-distant future, people, or cockroaches in suits and ties if we don't survive, can find these LE ONLY magazines and place them in museums as relics of a time when people had to actually be notified that their rights were less than those of others.

AS TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION OF THIS THREAD:

Purchasing and owning the high-cap magazines in question is again NOT illegal while in Pennsylvania. However, you are, in fact, committing possibly a NUMBER of prosecutable crimes by purchasing such magazines with such intentions and taking steps in furtherance of possessing them illegally.

The only responsible advice to you from anyone on this board is DO NOT BREAK THE LAW. IF YOU ARE FORBIDDEN FROM OWNING THEM IN NY - SIMPLY DO NOT OWN THEM. DO NOT OBTAIN THEM. ETC. ETC. ETC.

I also imagine it would not be difficult for someone seeking to prosecute you, to obtain your identity from computer records left by visiting this board. These records would lead right to your door I would imagine, so you certainly might not want to play the Musketeer after having chatted about it on the Internet.

Someone told me that the AR high capacity mags will work in a Mini 14. Is this true or not??? Hard to find high capacity mags for the mini.

Lightbulb Re: Hi-Cap Magazine Purchase

-MTBSKI,

A bud gave me 4 mini's mags cause he no longer had the mini 14. Damn if they didn't look the same/similar, but won't lock in with the ar's mag latch. The difference was slight and I'd bet they could be made to work for the other.

At Wal-Mart when the clerk hesitates after the register beeps I simply state its for rifle, they punch a button and the transaction is complete. Then to my gray is showing these days.

Everything I've seen as to Mag restrictions is when ordering via the net or from catalogs to one of the forbidden states.
