First gun I shot was my grandfather's Remmy 511 .22... He died and left my brother and I each a rifle. My brother got the 511, and I got the Remmy 760 Gamemaster in 30.06... I had to be maybe 7 when I first shot that .22 and I loved it... It would jam something fierce. My step-father (Dad) would take my brother and I shooting and would always curse it because it jammed so many times. It sat in the attic for years until I turned 20. My brother being a prohibited person (302), I took care of it.

One day I found the schematic online and how everything came apart. I tore it down, refinished the stock and the barrel, cleaned everything, and it looks and works beautifully... I still have the 30.06, but I didn't shoot it until I was older. The first gun I ever bought was a Savage .22 from Wal-Mart, my own little wedding present when I got married... Still have the gun, was divorced after 2 years... lol

Well, First gun I shot was a .22 mag. of some brand. Ill be sure to find out tomorrow. Ill Call up my grandfather an see if I can get my guns. But anyhow. I shot a .22 mag. I got to say I was probley 12? When I started shooting. Then he introduced me to handguns when I was probley 15. I was shooting a .25 ruger. A pocket revolver of some sort. Then when I was like 17 I started going to the fish and game with him. An shooting with them good bunch of guys. Started shooting more of a verity. 30/30's - 30/6 - 12 gauge ect. An I shot good many handguns from .38s to 9mm. An over the yrs I never shot a .50 cal. An I never shot anything like the AR. But, Id like to. But I never bought a pistol yet. I did however buy a Remington 20 gauge. for hunting reasons. But, I couldnt have it at my house because my dad got into some trouble an couldnt have fire arms in his house. So, its at his house in his gun safe. With my .22 ruger. An my .22 mag. An my 20 gauge. But, pistols Always just shot everyone elses. Or ones my grandfather has gaven me. But, Im going to buy one this month. With help of tax returns. But, I got to thank my grandfather for getting me into guns. I see alot of peoples grandfathers got them into them.

I was very interested in firearms when I was younger. A friends took me to a bowling pin match I observed and helped set pins and and score. Afterwards, we shot and I caught the bug. My first weapon was a Winchester 1300 Black Shadow.

First gun was BB gun. Shot that for a few years until some older kid tried to take it from me and then I buttstroked him with it and had it taken away.

After that I worked with a guy at Toys R Us that had a nice collection of evil black guns to include the MP5. Then I decided to join the Army and play with some of their guns for awhile.

The first gun I ever bought was an H&K USP 9mm v1, from a pawn shop outside of Ft Polk, LA. I politely asked the owner and the local PD standing next to me, "Where is there a range to go shooting?" Their reply, "Son, we ain't got no ranges. Just go out on public land and be responsible" So off into the Kistache I went. Shot more of the Army's guns for the next few years and came home to PA.

Received an old Winchester from a buddy of mine and used it as an excuse to buy a new rifle. "Honey, I can't shoot this. Its old and unreliable and an antique." So off I went and came home with a Colt M4. Right about there it started a cascading effect and now I have many, as my wife would say,"ugly" black rifles that bear the proud logos of Colt, HK, Remington and FN.

Got into guns by stumbling upon this website and finding someone nearby who was into guns. my parents had been pretty gun neutral, they never talked good or bad about them so I never really understood the process of buying and owning one.

first gun I got was a 10/22 with the help of pafoa member ScoutJoe, made a friend and got into a really nice hobby all from posting on this website.

My interest in guns started when I was very young. My father was a New York State police officer and he started teaching me how to shoot before I was 5 years old. So marksmanship, and guns in general has been a lifelong interest. I find them fascinating on many levels, including historically & mechanically as well as a personal skill, that I believe all should be taught at some time in their life.

My grandfather is the one that got me into guns. He always enjoyed showing me his collection when we would go visit. First he bought me a bb gun, then a few years later a marlin 22. A few years after that he gave me his Winchester .243 so i could go dear hunting. And about a year ago he passed away and I inherited his entire collection (a total of 14 guns) . I have yet to purchase a gun myself; I have been waiting to turn 21 so i can get a pistol.

There is a Red Ryder BB gun sitting not 3 feet away from me. We use it to chase off the feral cats that show up sometimes.

I can't remember HOW I got into shooting. It's been a part of my family for a few generations and I was always around them. My grandfather on my moms side was a cop for a few years, then was USAF for a long time. My grandmother on my moms side was the real shooter in the family and since she didnt drive she would take her rifle and box of ammo on the bus to the range. My dads side of the family was all military but none of them were any good at the shooting thing. The first gun I ever got that was mine was a Savage/Stevens model 63/73 (cant remember which but its the same gun though) single shot bolt action .22lr, which I recently reacquired, for my 6th bday. Next gun I got was my SKS for my 13th bday. My Remington 870 Express Magnum 12g for graduation and my Savage MkII .22lr bolt action for Christmas a few years ago. So technically I never bought a gun before lol
