Default Ranier Lead Free Bullets

Anybody use these? I'm particularly interested in 9mm.

The price is good, so I'm thinking about trying them.

Are they accurate?

Joe,

I have only used them (45 not 9mm) and I like them alot.

With that said I have not bought any lately as the price doubled that I was paying for them a few years ago. I still have a couple thousand laying around. Load them to lead specs.

I started to cast my own when components got extremely expsensive.

There is a Rainier load spreadsheet somewhere. If I find it I'll post it.

Joe, also...if you find any Frontier bullets, try those. We're trying to find a perfect load for them still, but they've been 100% reliable.

I paid $69 for 1000 115gr FMJ.

contact them to find out what you need to do to order them if you're interested and you can't find them locally. I think he ships bullets for $10 flat.

I have used the Berry's 124 jhp in 9mm. they cost about 75 dollars for 1k.
They load great. I load them using lead data. I have always loaded the Berry's on the hot side of the lead data. I have shot about 2k and not had a problem yet.

I use the 4 die lee set to crimp the round and I have bee happy.

Since 45acp and 38spl do not approach leading-issue velocities, I feel it's a waste to load them in those calibers. I do, however, load them for my 357 magnum. I use the copper-plated section tables in the Lee Modern Reloading manual and have had good practice load results. I haven't reloaded any over anything "hot" so I can't comment in that area.

Actually neither Barry's or Ranier are lead free but copper anodized lead core. Both can be driven out to about 1,200 fps without problems. I've had good accuracy with both bands.
The lead free, copper blend frangible bullets can be a little trickier to load, if not careful they can come apart at the muzzle.

The Frontier Bullets are obtainable from Roger Burris at King Shooter's supply. They are imported from South Africa and Roger keeps a reasonable stock of them as he can obtain them. I have been using their 165 grain flat points for quite a while in a 40 S&W load. The Zero 9mm in 115 or 124 are also very good and Roger carries those as well. Dave_n

that's where I got them.

we're still trying to work up a good load with the 115gr fmj frontier bullets. the blue dot loads we've made so far have been a little hot.

Try Power Pistol from Alliant.

I've shot several thousand Rainier and Berrys in both 9mm and 45. No issues. I look at Berrys, they INCLUDE shipping. Last I looked on their site 9mm 124gn were 72/K.

Bout a month ago I loaded 1K up on a Saturday...
