I think you are very right. But at the same time we have to oppose all of these bills fervently right out of the gate regardless of how remote the possibility is that they will actually go anywhere.
Politicians should be afraid of attaching their name to these bills. They should know that as soon as they do they are going to be flooded with letters and phone calls from angry constituents.

Is there nothing we can do other than just flooding them with letters? Sometimes i wonder if they even remember the oath they swore when taking office. Because lately they have been blatently ignoring it.

What they need to see mostly is calls and letters from people that can vote them out of office. I know of a few politicians that anything recieved that was a form letter or not in their district got round filed.

That's why I write and or e-mail everyone involved with a bill to let them know atleast one voter is not going to sit back and take it. And that's why we are strong because we all speak out against these kind of bills and let the politian's know we are an large number of voters, and will not sit back on our asses.
I wish I could take the time and ride for the rally in Harrisburg. |

Something I'm trying to get started. Note added: It would probably take 15 minutes of your time and then an additional 5 talking to a shop owner, plus 5 to 10 bucks in stamps. If anyone is interested I'll update my thread with links to where the bills can be printed and updated letters. Links to rep contact info is already in a stickied thread (above) in this forum and addresses can simply be copied and pasted in MS Word and printed on standard Avery labels to save even more time addressing 20 envelopes. This is why I wish everyone who believes in the right to carry would get off their dead behinds and get a permit. Even if they don’t want to carry personally, but support the right to do so. I know plenty of people who feel that way. I’m willing to bet that there are a large number of “dems’”, especially in rural areas, that support gun rights. I know some of them too. It’s the crazy left that is trying control the issue. Nothing gets a politicians attention better then action and support through participation. I’m not sure what percentage of eligible Pennsylvanians have an ltcf but I bet it’s real small. I live in a very gun friendly environment and still know few people who have a permit. I truly believe many of these bills would go away if even 20 or 25 percent of eligible people possessed a permit, especially women. But what can you expect from a country where you can’t even get half the people to vote. You get the government you deserve.
Does anyone know the rough percentage ltcf in the state? |

Some years ago they passed an assault weapons registration bill in California. Can you say civil disobedients? A large number of people didn't register their guns. The state has a file of every gun that has been bought going back for some time. I heard, when a new anti-gun AG was elected he went to the commandant of the State police suggesting they make up a list of the scoflaws and round them up. His reply was something to the tune of, "Are you NUTS!". No round up was ever done. If they find you with an unregistered AW they will charge you. they ain't looking for them directly. As there is no state form to fill out here in PA they don't even know who owns them. I'm not suggesting anyone do anything illegal. just think about what you will do should this stuff pass.
