I'm a keeper for the most part. Occasionally a safe queen will come out and be sold but that is far and away the exception and not the rule.

I trade away some of my guns. A few I'll keep forever. Like my pre-ban 1st gen Glock 17 with Tritium night sights. It's a sweet ride.

If I get a gun, don't like how it handles or shoots, I get rid of it. I most recently traded in my Ruger sp101 for a Taurus 66. I really didn't care for the Ruger.

Done the trading and selling thing. You just about ALWAYS lose money. Now, years later, I have a small collection of high quality firearms that my kids will sell off when I die.

I still have every gun I ever bought - with the exception of ones bought as gifts for others.

If I sell a gun, chances are I can't replace later for how much I sold it for. I have a few that I bought because the price was good and I know I could get more out of them later, but I haven't sold them yet. With family, kids, houses and all the other expenses, I don't get to buy many these days, so I'm glad I hoarded them when I could and kept them.

Some are shooters, some have been shot, but stay in the safe most of the time, and some are waiting to be shot (the K-31 doesn't have ammo yet).

I would say I've always been a "keeper", but I have recently picked up a few more and some of the ones that need rebuilt might get sold after I'm done working on them..

I have a couple of 22 that have set in the backs of closets from what I've gathered from the people who gave them to me. Some are pretty rough and depending on how they turn out will affect my decision to keep or sell/trade for something else.

I have bought a few guns for a specific purpose, but after a time, I realized that they weren't really that good for what I bought them for. I have traded them or sold them always though I have put the money towards another firearm purchase.

Mostly a keeper. But I will sell a piece or two under the right circumstances, particularly if something becomes obsolete.

However, with the 4-year long jackass season coming, all bets are off.

Default Re: What type of gun owner are you?

I'm a keeper for the most part, but if I buy something that ends up not being workable for me (like the Nite Hawg was) then I'll trade it for something else. Before that happens, though, I'll "trade" with my husband. If it ends up being something we BOTH don't like, THEN we'll trade it in on something else. He's more of a trader than I am, though.

I'am a keeper, I like the saying "FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS".
I also will pass my toys to my children.

i've only ever sold one gun...wish i still had it. on the other hand, i used the money to buy my first bass guitar, and i still play love playing 20 years later, so i don't regret that part.

i've been thinking about trading a couple guns recently, though...but for other guns.
