Re: The Allentown Show
In the past Bill Guarnere has left by 3:00. I do not know what time he can stay until. (Maybe his health is a factor). If you want to meet him, make sure you come early.

Re: The Allentown Show
I have seen him signing things in the past, but I never paid attention to what was going on. As a club officer I usually am busy with "show committee" stuff while passing his location.
I have seen him talking at length and I am sure he will be willing to discuss anything that anybody has interest in. He is a really neat guy.

Re: The Allentown Show
I just got home after making my "contribution" to the show and a few vendors. HUGE amount to look through, I had to stop after 4-1/2" hours of looking even tho I didn't see it all.

Re: The Allentown Show
I got back a few hours ago. I got my BofB DVD case signed by Mr. Guarnere. It was really cool to meet him.
Didn't pick up any guns, just some GP-11 and M1 carbine ammo. I wish I had the cash to buy some other stuff...there was tons of nice guns there.
Great show.

Re: The Allentown Show
Bill Guarnere's appearance went very well. A few times the crowd around his table was so large people had to come back.
One incident stands out. Three young boys in their early teens walked by and one of them recognized Bill Guarnere. The other two had no knowledge of WWII and the sacrifices made. The youngster gave the other two a quick education about the war, the veterans, and Bill's Guarnere's history. It was a touching moment to see the reaction of the youngsters and their appreciation.
The interest was so heavy that the club has decided to invite him back again in December.
