Default Boy, 4, Shoots Babysitter With Shotgun For Stepping On His Foot

Boy, 4, Shoots Babysitter For Stepping On His Foot
JACKSON, Ohio (AP) ―

Police say a 4-year-old boy in southern Ohio shot his babysitter because the sitter accidentally stepped on his foot. Police said 18-year-old Nathan Beavers and several other teenagers were babysitting several young children in a mobile home in Jackson on Sunday when the shooting occurred.

Witnesses told police the 4-year-old retrieved the shotgun from a bedroom closet and shot Beavers. Police said the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot.

Beavers was hospitalized with minor pellet wounds to his arm and side.

Police say another teen was also injured with shotgun pellets.

Jackson County Sheriff John Shashteen said authorities are investigating the shooting. The child has not been charged

WTF? There is more to this story than this. I would bet one of the other teens used the shotgun and they are blaming it on the 4 year old to keep from getting into trouble. I can't see any 4 year old going to a closet to get a gun because someone stepped on their foot. Throw a toy, break a lamp, sure.

I totally agree, I posted this same story in a diffrent section and then it was moved. I didn't know it had been previously posted. It can sometimes get confusing if things should be posted in News, Lounge or General. And then wind up missing if something has been previously posted. However, it's still my bad.

Yeah, something stinky in Denmark there. Still, bad on the homeowners to allow several teens in there home without securing the weapons first, IMHOIANAL but that is definatley providing 'ready access' in this case.

Between this and the 12-year-old, too much ammo is being dropped in the lap of the Bradys.

I'm waiting for the revision to the story that says the 4 yo's finger prints were not found on the gun but the babysitter's were. This is so far out as to be absolutely unbelieveable!

BTW, how did the parents get away without charges of child endangerment?

I would like to see everyone charged with disorderly conduct as well.
