Default Accidently dropped my firearm in the movie theatre.

While I was watching a flick at the movie theater, I reached into my front right pants pocket to get my chapstick and my gun slid out and fell onto the floor. I don't usually carry a gun that way, but I wanted to see what it would be like to carry a small gun (Baby Browning). Luckily it was real dark and I think no one noticed that it was a gun.

I quickly proceeded to go down onto the floor to retrieve it, and I was foolishly acting like I was picking up the popcorn that I had carelessly dropped.

I finally found it underneath my seat and someone sitting behind me just stared at me like I was weird or something.

The gun is very small and very black which made it harder to find in the dark theater.

Another time I was carrying my revolver in an inside the pant holster towards the back of my body, and a waitress noticed it protruding out when I sat down. My t-shirt accidentally moved up and over the gun uncovering it and leaving it exposed for everyone to see.

She looked a little alarmed but was trying to be calm about it, and I really thought that she was going to get the manager or something.

Has someone ever noticed or discovered that you were carrying a firearm? Or what about any close calls?

I almost had mine jump out of a holster while running down the stairs to catch the subway one day.

I promptly stopped using that holster as the retention was obviously not good enough.

I always carry in my front right pocket, my Kahr CW9 in an Uncle Mikes IWB sidekick holster, the IWB has a clip much like a cell phone for waistband carry, so in the pocket the print looks like, well, a cell phone. I was with DGG9 at SPAG one day and he couldn't see where I had my gun. I don't wear my shirts tucked in, in fact in summer I wear no shirt at all or only tank tops, so it's pocket carry for me. I'm a big guy and have pants with large pockets, it may not be for you.

ANYWAY, I digress, the main reason for my response is I never have anything other than the gun & holster in that pocket, the only reason to go into that pocket would be for the gun, period. That way, I will not have a similar incident.

Thanks soberbyker for the advice/tip, and I should have known better than to put other stuff in the same pocket as my gun. I swear sometimes I'm sitting on my brains!

I agree with soberbyker nothing in that pocket except your gun. I pocket carry all the time. Colt officers model. Sometimes a chiefs special 38 snub in a uncle mikes holster (pocket holster).

The colt OACP no holster. loaded chamber and hammer down on 1/2 cock.

I'll tell you what I was at giant eagle on thursday walking through minding my own business bent down to get something on the bottom shelf my gun stuck out a little bit and a lady saw me probably in her early 40's, guess she doesnt like guns, but she called me a F'ing redneck and told store security on me. They then came to talk to me i showed them my ccw and told me to have a nice day shopping.

For some reason people around my area hate people that carry handguns thats why im buying something more concealable..

No you didn't do anything "wrong", stuff happens, I think he means TonyF, and oyu may get your balls busted, but it's all in fun. I think you've learned your lesson, if your carrying a gun in your pocket, it better be in a pocket holster and there better be nothing else in it just for the reason you are now acquainted with.

My first holster was a Fobus Roto Paddle holster, the adjustment screw came undone and the holster flipped up-side down and dumped my pistol on the floor of the mall for all to see, the guy behind me messed his drawers, I promptly made my way to the closest exit and watched as the "security" went nuts running all over the place, bought a better holster withing half an hour. Never had any more problems.
