Default new years gunshots

i saw on the news today that south philly did their random gunshots into the air at midnight... they said "police heard sounds that sounded like semi autos" and i was like "ya think?" ... i'm telling you the news gets dumber every year... and i don't understand why people just don't shoot blanks if they want to make a lot of noise instead of causing a lot of property damage and possibly someone's life.

I like the bang bang thing on New Years myself but I stick to 12ga bird bombs. I can tell you the assholes around me were shooting from 11pm till almost 2am and it was not fireworks. I can only hope that a few of them were using blanks or atleast shooting into a back stop.

at night and from a distance, how does one tell between "semi-autos" and revolvers?

for that matter, why is one perceived as more dangerous than the other?

cause liberal media wants to scare idiots into believing that people were shooting machiene guns in the air.

remember... to a naive idiot. semi-auto=machiene gun thanks to the brady bunch and bill clinton.
