Default LTCF and CCW - i need both?

I searched the forum, and read the flyer regarding gun rights in PA, OC, etc etc.

My question is,

If i want to carry my handgun (.38 snub) on my person, AND have it in my car with me *loaded*, am i correct in needing both LTCF and CCW? Or does the CCW trump while in the car?

I'm sorry if this had been asked before, i really did search and can't find a clear answer for my situation. Thanks for the replies.

If it matters, my home county is Clearfield.

A LTCF or license to carry a firearm and a ccw are both terms used to describe the same thing. Technically the the ccw in Pa. Is called a lctf.

No such thing in Pa as a ccw, ccwp, cwp, or whatever abbreviation you want to attribute to a carry permit. As stated the permit is called a LTCF or License To Carry Firearms, which will allow you to carry your snub fully loaded openly or concealed on your person or in a vehicle anywhere within the commonwealth with these exceptions:

am not sure if you are thinking the CCW and the LTCF were two different forms of permission slips to carry, but that is how I read your question. They are not.

In general, the LTCF is the documentation needed to carry concealed on your person or in a vehicle in Pennsylvania. County of residence does not matter.

The LTCF IS the licensure you need. Some folks might call that "CCW" but in PA it is actually called a License to Carry a Firearm, not a CCW.

In any case you are good to go with an LTCF for loaded vehicle carry (of handguns, SBS's, SBR's) and concealed carry. Loaded long guns may not be transported in a vehicle. There are some more laws attached to that on defining a firearm and transport of firearms by non-licensed persons, and you can look them over here (sec 6106):
