Default AMMO PRICES

With the rise of ammo prices, do you find yourself...

#1 Shooting the same amount, with no effect.

#2 Shooting a lower price/quality ammo.

#3 Shooting less.

#4 Shooting handguns chambered in 9x19 and .22 lr.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I still shoot all of my handguns, but I find myself shooting my 9mm's and my Glock with a AA .22 conversion kit more and more.

I don't want to lose range time, but some ammo prices are getting hard on the wallet.

How about you?

By shooting blanks, you can reuse the targets and save money!

At the most recent Valley Forge gun show, I was seriously thinking about getting a .22 conversion kit for my Beretta 92 fs. I ended up not getting one, but I was floored by the rising prices of ammo, even as priced per case at the VF gun show. I kept myself from purchasing a case of 9mm simply because my favorite ammo for price (winchester in 100 rd boxes) was $3.50 more per box at case price than per 100 at walmart!

Of course, when I went to walmart later that week (I hadn't been for some time), the price was about the same as at VF anyway.

I picked up a used single stage reloading setup. The cost per round after the equipment is less than half and I have one more hobby.

Default Re: AMMO PRICES

I make my own ammunition so cost per round is not a issue. Even still, i'm finding myself spending MORE due to me stockpiling components whenever i find them at a good price. (Mainly M80 and M2 ball projectiles)

Although i still shoot everything i own. I find myself packing the 10/22 and Walther P22 more often when loading the truck to go to the range.

In terms of rifles, well i'll probably shoot my Mosin's more this summer than anything else. Atleast until i run out of Czech surplus lol.
