Default Evacuation of the Wyoming Valley!

Boy is NEPA taking a beating right now. ALL areas that were affected by hurricane Agnes in 1972 are under a MADATORY evacuation order. Must be gone by 8pm with a curfew in place 9pm on.

Best wishes to all our Brothers and Sisters who will be displaced.

Take your most cherished belongings...

.....But most of all, leave safely - and ARMED!

holy crap! mandatory evacuations...glad i live in the opposite corner of the state. i have relatives in the scranton area, though. i'll have to check on them.

good luck to all of you in the upper right quadrant!

(p.s., don't let the whole katrina gun confiscation thing be repeated.)

The majority of Scranton is SAFE LRT. There are small community pockets in Scranton that took on water.

The REAL threat is to those areas lying within reach of the now mighty Susquehanna river.

Does this mean on tomorrow's evening news we'll be seeing violent gangs shooting at rescue helicopters? Maybe I'll take a run up there to get me that plasma I've been putting off buying... sorry, I'm done. Seriously though, I hope all fair as well as possible during this troubled time.

Default Thanks Army Corp...

Looks like the Wyoming Valley stayed dry behind the dikes that were built along the Susquehanna River. After the 1972 flood, tall dikes were built to prevent a repeat of the flood caused by Hurricane Agnes. I'd say that it was worth every penny spent on the dike program...thanks Army Corp

Perfect example of why you need to be prepared to evacuate quickly. Got your B.O.B. ready? Got what you need to keep your family safe? It can and does happen in PA too.
