Default Springfield 1911 long slide ported!

Dropped into the local gunsmith today and my eyes were instantly drawn to a long-slide Springfield 1911 under the glass. I'd never seen one, ported barrel no less. I instantly began thinking of things to sell. The shop wants $800 for it, used. Wood grips, adjustable sights, . I confess to gagging at the price, but chalk it up to ignorance -- perhaps it's target-tuned. Looks like a fun shooter. Does anyone know anything about this model and the Brazilian manufacture?

You don't know the history. $800 for something that rare doesn't seem high to me.

It might have had a lot of work done inside, and out.

SA has been having their guns forged/ built in Brazil for a long time. Only their custom shop guns are really done in the US.

I would want to know who worked on the gun before even considering it. If it is ported then trust me when I say, that is not the only work that the gun has seen. Could be bubba with a drill in his garage or a Harrison masterpiece.

I know this is just my opinion...

but that was pretty fucking douchey of you to ask him where that gun was that he was interested in and then to just go buy it out from under him when he was nice enough to tell you. And then to proudly advertise that you cock-blocked this guy is extra asshole-ish.
