I know people have a right to support who they want. I also have a right to support who I want and I can tell ya this.....No more thoughts of a Cooper in my future!!!!!
From: USA Today QUOTE WASHINGTON Dan Cooper, a proud member of the National Rifle Association, has backed Republicans for most of his life. He's the chief executive of Cooper Arms, a small Montana company that makes hunting rifles. Cooper said he voted for George W. Bush in 2000, having voted in past elections for every Republican presidential nominee back to Richard Nixon. In October 1992, he presented a specially made rifle to the first President. Bush during a Billings campaign event. This year, Cooper has given $3,300 to the campaign of Democrat Barack Obama. That's on top of the $1,000 check he wrote to Obama's U.S. Senate campaign in 2004, after he was dazzled by Obama's speech at that year's Democratic National Convention. Cooper is a player in one of the little-told dramas of the 2008 presidential campaign: how Obama has been able to out-raise Republican John McCain among swaths of the business community, outperforming previous Democratic presidential nominees in drawing business support. |

Apparently CooperArms is aware that potential customers are aware of his donation.
Aware enough to comment about it on the front page of their website. The claim is the first donation was to defeat Clinton. He claims to have donated twice as much to McCain.

Notice how they distinguish between Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc. and Dan Cooper. By saying Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc. did not donate the reader assumes Dan and Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc. are one in the same and you will take that as meaning Dan did not Donate. What bothers me more is the whole Dan was "dazzled by Obama’s speech". I don't get the whole speech thing, they never really make me so moved that I just fall in love with the presenter. A speech is so planned out and designed to change your view of the person more then what the content is, that I just don't put much into them.
