YES. VERY.

Lowest I've found it is http://www.aimsurplus.com/ for $149.95 + S$H for 1,000 rds (50 boxes of 20)

That is a good price, what kind? or does it just say something like "hunting catridge" on the boxes and list some other crap in english.

When you say "AP" do you mean its the banned from import Chinese stuff?

Considering wolf, golden tiger and military classic is at $165. I'd say you did good. Is it corrosive?

its steel core, but only declared AP by the ATF, its not really AP, as in a hardeened steel core, its mild steel.
AP only in handguns.
if its steel core, probably its chinese.

I got a cople cans of it at home, its corrosive if its chinese.

i only assumed steel core was armor oiercing, the guy who got it for me said its armor piercing, so i assumed ap meant steel core.. i have steel core .50bmg ammo, i assume its armor piercing beings it goes through almost 2" of abrasion resistant steel @200 yrds. anyway it was that or 900 rnds of green tip and tracer linked .223 for 150.00 i have enough of the .223 green tip plus the 762 is a great round, hits hard.......

Officially AP *because* a handgun can take it (details). It's just plain ball ammo by our standards.

The apparent purpose of the steel core is less expensive bullet manufacture and possibly balance. The core isn't hardened.

If the guy who sold it said it was AP then its most likely chinese. I think there is some german floating around somewhere but not easy to find. Anyways you got a grrrrrrrrrrrreat deal. Since the stuff hasn't been imported in forever.

-Jaybell

Would normal FMJ rounds punch through softarmor out of a pistol type AK barrel? Or is it only the steel core rounds out of a pistol? I know either would out of a rifle, but thought the velocity was still high enough out of a pistol for any round.
