i have an M9 (92FS with post sights (two dot as said before)) and bought it becaus eafter puting a few thousand rounds through one in the Marine Corps without a failure... i decided it was a GREAT pistol. the decocking ambidexterous safety is GREAT in my eyes along with a "round in chamber indicator" and a 16+1 round count with factory mags.
i feel they come back on target well and right out of the box are fairly accurate. you can pick one up used for a great price and know it will fire every time you pull the trigger (or atleast have VERY few if any issues, at most the locking block may need replaced after thousands and thousands of rounds) the open slide design has allowed me to have ONE failure to eject on my personal pistol. i honestly think it was just a bad round from a bulk box. i am looking at purchasing a polished stainless model like the one above for dress style. i have ZERO beef with mine and its what i OC most due to the fact i KNOW its accurate and will fire EVERY time half decent ammo.

+1 on previous positive posts.
I've had my 92FS for a while now and can't say one bad thing. The gun has been nothing but good to me through a ton of rounds. Also, you can get the new Mec-gar mags that hold 18 or 20 rds and still fit flush... Nice Overall its a smooth, accurate, and reliable handgun. The decocker/ pin-block safety is also a big plus. I'd buy another one without hesitation! |

The first gun I got was the 92FS and I love it. I have only put about 600 rounds down range, but I have never had any problems, and the gun is accurate. Don't have my FL license yet so I can't conceal, but I do practice it in my home, and it conceals OK for its size, I always did it just in shorts and a t-shirt, so it shouldn't be any problems to conceal this time of year at all. You won't be disappointed at all!

I love them.
Never owned one, but I have fired many...with no failures. I will be buying a Beretta M9 soon.

It was accutate, dependable, and good looking firearm.
I loved mine, but grip was too thick for my mid sized hand. And I never got over that So off to new owner it went

Beautiful looking guns, fantastic shooter and VERY accurate (much due to the 5" barrel). If you are used to 1911's or most other pistols like Glocks or XD's, you may not like the HUGE grips. My hands aren't exactly small, but they are not giant hand either. If your hands are smallish, the grips can be pretty uncomfortable. Try it out, actually shoot it, first.
As for Beretta warranty, I have a personal experience with them that I didn't like. While they honor the warranty, they require that you procure a receipt. If you bought it second hand, you are out of luck. If you are beyond the warranty period, be prepared to pay up for service/replacements. I had a Tomcat that cracked after 200+ rounds within 2 months of ownership. I sent it back and they called and ask for a receipt before they look at it. Once they figured out that they couldn't fix it, they called and said they'll send an "upgraded" replacement (a Inox version instead of the broken matte black). It took them 3 MONTHS to get a replacement to me!!! They didn't even cover shipping or re-transfer fee! Al |
