Get rid of your guns!!!

I had a rather interesting discussion with an anti-gun coworker tonight at work. We were talking baout a recent robbery that happened, and I made the remark "I bet it would of turned out different if the victim had a gun". Long story short he basically said that if I ever tried to shoot an intruder in my home, that I would mess up and end up shooting myself and my fiance. I even said "So the instrictors at Tactical Response wouldn't know what to do inthat situation, so they would shoot themselves?" and he said "basically. yes"

So, guys. You need to get rid of your guns, because if you ever needed to use them inself defense, you'd just end up killing all of your family members, and eventually turn the gun on yourself.

You have to wonder what they have read or heard to reach such a conclusion. Did you ask him? If you find out please post it here. It is a sure bet that many would like to read it.

Take this person to the range for a fun day of learning.

You could always take your wife hostage, and threaten to the intruder that you'll blow her brains out if he doesn't leave.

I've actually heard that by simply owning a firearm you will kill every single person on the planet.

I think you all should get rid of your guns. And being a loyal subject, I am going to drive around and take them off your hands to save you the trouble of doing it yourself. I don't have a wife and kids at home, so I don't have to worry about shooting them. So, I am a logical choice to hold all the guns. Beside, I can't afford to buy the one I want right now. You all would be helping me out.

Fear is bred out of ignorance. And comments like the one that this guy made just go to prove that. Oh, could you also give me your ammo, so I will have something to shoot out of all the weapons I will be collecting so you won't kill your families.

So, because this "person" has and irrational fear of certain inanimate objects, doesn't know how to use them and doesn't want to know how to use them, he feels that everyone is as ignorant as he is.

Take him out to the range. Show him how one properly uses a handgun. Teach him all the safety aspects of handling and using a handgun. Be gentle with him. This is an opportunity to convert someone.

Or, acknowledge that he's an idiot and leave it at that.

Yeah i had a co-worker like that once. i asked him where he got his info, he told me from the center for violence and hand gun controll incorperated. so i asked him if he would like to go shooting with me one time just to see our side. he agreed and after 3 more trips to the range, he bought his first handgun a Berreta 92F, and has since gone to Thunder Ranch, leathal Force institute, and is now in the process of applying for his FFL. all it takes is a little education and sometimes you get lucky and convert them or atleast get them to understand why we enjoy our firearms so much.

I firmly believe the world would be a better place without guns. Once the criminals, Gov't and everyone else get rid of there's, then I'll get rid of mine. I'd much rather rip someone apart with my bare hands anyways.
