Default Wal-Mart today.

Today I went to Wal*Mart to pick up a few things. A box of Tampons, bread, soda and a DVD. When I went to have it rung up I used the sporting goods counter. And I picked up a box of 9mm handgun ammo.

The clerk held the tampon box and stared at the ammo. Then he said he was having problems with the register and needed the manager's key. When the manager came over the clerk talked to him and I heard him say, "But she is buying tampons AND ammo".

I think I might have thrown in some Pamprin, and a "get-out-of-my-way" expression in just for fun.

On a sort-of-related FYI:

The Wal-Mart on 322 no longer sells firearms. I think the town is Boothwyn, it's just down the road from the Conchester Lanes bowling alley. I bought 2 10/22s there, though it was quite a hassle, with them requiring 3 forms of proof of residency, or something like that.

What I learned from my ex-wife is to be afraid of something that bleeds for a week and doesn't die.

Perhaps there is a little known law that prohibits the sale of ammunition at.. ehrm... certain times of the month?

I always get wierd looks at the gun counter at wal mart, especially when im *just* buying ammo. People dont realise that the sports counter isnt just an auxiliary checkout (kindof like how people use a pharmacy)..
