And yes, with the data provided, it would seem that a white man is more likely to be attacked by a black man, provided that the data is correct. BUT, would Delta have had the SAME sense of alert if the man was white? Again, probably not. This has nothing to do with race, but to perceive an indivudual acting rather strangely to be more or less of a threat because of his race (which is racist whether you believe that or not) is foolish and may get you killed. I am not Delta, and can not tell if he would have reacted the same way had the guy been purple, but my post intended to point out that black, green, or orange, the guy was acting weird. It is much the same as someone saying " I had to go through a BAD area". Yes, statistically, your chances of having an encounter in a "BAD" area are higher than if you were in a "good" area. Do you guys unload your firearms while in a "good" area? And to the dog shooter in Pittsburgh, good luck killing an all out attacking, snarling, drooling, rabid, trained to kill pit bull while holding your dog on a leash with the other hand with a pistol. Dogs as such have been known to take several shots with pistols only to go down after being hit with a round or two of OO Buck. And, no offense to anyone, don't compare me to an attorney, I find that offensive. LOL
Here's what I find offensive...
You don't even have the decency to address me by my screen name. You've done it TWICE. Fist it was "that guy" and now I'm "the dog shooter".
Did I touch a nerve animal lover? Are you one of those people who thinks ANIMALS are better than most people? HUH?!!! SPEAK UP!
WELL I (Underline "I") AM!!! Yes, I believe that animals ARE better than most of the people I have met. You have NO FREAKIN' CLUE who you are talking to when you label me a "Dog Shooter." I just finished telling someone how it would break my heart to be forced to shoot a dog in my neighborhood if I were attacked one day! Does that mean I should let said dog do as it pleases to my dog and myself? Hell no! Do I think it would be EASY to "drop" an attacking dog? HELL NO. Dogs are FAST. Your little "factoid" about the difficulty in stopping a dog with a pistol was insulting. I'm not the freakin' mentally challenged putz you seem to think I am.
Damn. Just because I take Clairtin doesn't make me less of a person.

I happen to be the one who showed the law on shooting a dog. Best way to prove he attacked you...
One arm forward dog takes it, (now you can shoot the pup and you can sue the owner) gun under the neck straight shot in, the dog doesnt even know what happened. Snoppy is now down for the count. From having to shoot a few dogs in my time, I can tell you its a hell of a lot easyer to shoot one coming at you then one going after some one else.

Then dont come on as an internet lawyer. We respect the known lawyers here..
Oh and before you ask how I got to shoot dogs, In northern quebec there was a bounty on 500 dogs and later 250 cats gone wild from a farm after a pet lover group let them lose and they where ravaging the wildlife there.

The general rule is if a dog is stray and running after you, you can defend yourself. About the only exeption to this is a police K9 as they are dutie dogs. So keep your puppy behind a fence or on a leach.

I just rated the post 5* because it is a real life post, and I'll be damned if the poster doesnt deserve 5 * for being so honest.
Hind sight is 20/20 and I am sure all you who critique what the original poster did have you ropinions, but not many have the balls to post their errors here to the benifit of others.

This thread is getting way out of hand. First we were going over the almost bad situation that could of happened.

Then we started the race issue.

Now it's about dogs and how mech we love them, but cant shoot them, or something.

My vote: lock it.

I agree, moral of the story:

Always carry your gun and if you don't, don't post about it on a forum. If you do post it on a forum use general terms and don't be too descriptive.

This sort of thing happens alot where I'm at and even more where I was. Bums run around with bag fulls of whatever they can steal and try to sell on the street for a few bucks. You did the right thing by not checking it out, not necessarily that he was going to do anything but because they want you to check out their goods.

This *exact* situation is why I finally bought a gun and got my LTCF. Unfortunately I never get to carry it as I'm almost always on my way to or from work(strict anti-gun policies there).

"A "friend" of mine was driving a vehicle in an area with an equal mix of all of the Creator's races of humans and he(or she)realized that he(or she) had left "the thing" that goes in the "handle" of his(or her) legally owned firearm (which may or may not have been constructed of a polymer material) at his(or her) home(or apartment). The sky that day was a lovely shade of some color and a human of undetermined age may or may not have looked at him(or her) with an unknown expression on his(or her) face.

What should he(or she) have done?
