I'm new to shooting, but would like to compete some day with a handgun. What distance is used most commonly for handguns?

With pistol I start at 25 yards, and work in to about 5 feet with distances at 5, 10 and 15 yards.

I get to the range about every 2-3 weeks. I shoot 2 boxes each trip.
The first one is primarily fired doing double taps and body armor drills from the holster. The second box is for shooting while moving drills. I only fire about 5 and no more than 10 of those rounds from 25 yards. |
