Default Who's your local "sad story" reporter?

(slow day today!)

Here in Pittsburgh, on WTAE TV(Ch 4) I've noticed that EVERY time a "shooting" is covered, Anchor Sally Wiggin is the one who reports it. ALWAYS.

http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/...5/detail.html#

I bet my wife that she has something in her contract that specifies that SHE gets all the juicy, "social horror" stories.
Or it could be that the management WANTS her to be the one to start the story because she has that "look" (that head tilt combined with the serious raising of her one non-droopy eyelid) that compels viewers to "feel" for the "victim" (or sometimes the shooter) of "yet another senseless act of gun violence"...

When I went to get the link, I was surprised to read this at the bottom...

An avid animal lover, Sally has two dogs and a horse. She enjoys golfing, skiing, and trap and skeet shooting.

Still doesn't mean she supports the second amendment and it truly concerns me that anyone would allow that ditz to handle a firearm.
Unfortunately, in this case, it's her right to do so. I just PRAY that she's not as bumbling-stupid as she appears on air.

Any Pittsburgh viewers notice this?

Anyone else have a news station with a "go-to", sympathy-seeking reporter?

Thats an interesting observation. I couldn't stand the idiots that counted as news reporters in Philly, so I didn't watch them enough to notice. I don't know what the news reporters are like in Harrisburg guessing that they are about the same though. Will have to see.
