Default Outlaw Coffee!

In our tri-state area(PA-DE-NJ) there have been 16 convenience store robberies where the low-lifes use hot coffee to rob the store. The scums pour their coffee, go to the checkout and act as though they are paying for it and as the register opens the perps splash the clerk with the hot liquid and grab for the cash. Rewards have been offered. I believe we need congress to open hearings, maybe a "one cup-a-month" law, background checks for every coffee purchase, raising the minimum age for coffee purchases to say, 65. Maybe we should completely outlaw coffee...Mike45

You should have to register and pay a tax stamp if you want caffeinated coffee.

You can have my coffee when you pry it out of my cold, dead hands!

Don't blame the coffee. They have been using hot chocolate too.
It's time to ban "assault beverages".
A few things to consider are;
Does it have a capacity of 10 ounces or more?
Is it equipped with a splash suppressor?
Can it be easily concealed?

All joking aside, I feel bad for the victims. All have suffered, some as much as third degree burns. They'll have physical and emotional scars for the sake of a few dollars taken by some maggot, probably to spend on drugs.
When they are caught they should be charged with any and all charges that can be levied in terms of assault with the intent to do grevious bodily harm and treated as though the assault was carried out with a knife, gun or any other weapon.

Are they entilied to free refills?
I think congress will pass a law which you can only get caffiene drinks in a can like
red bull etc. or get iced coffee.
Or for you caffiene junkies get no dose.
Just havin fun.

I agree..... This is no different than anything else. We simply need "sensible coffee laws." There is no sporting purpose in a fully automatic cup! Having the ability to dispense 14 ounces of coffee with a single flip of the wrist is insane. Full auto coffee cups seen on the battlefield do not belong on our streets!

Coffee cups should be limited to 4 ounces for all civilians. LE may continue to purchase standard capacity cups but the cups must be marked "Law Enforcement Only" from now on.

Seriously, this act is no different than beating or shooting the cashier. The punishment should reflect the crime.

It most likely will. I'm sure they will still be charged with assault for throwing the coffee on them.

(I don't think the LEs are in there buying coffee )

I propose a "Goods for Cups Buy-Back" program.

No questions asked, cups of any type will be accepted. Functional or cracked, with or without "assault-style" grips/handles, ceramic, styrofoam, paper or plastic.

If we can take illegal cups off the streets and stop just one robbery, it will be worth every bit of the tax-payer's money.

Anyone turning in a cup or mug will be given a grocery store gift card with a $25 value. Carafe's, coffee pots and thermos' earn a $30 gift card.
(not to be used for purchase of coffee, tea, co-co or other hot-liquid products)
