i think this is the first time in all the years since I've been able to vote that I really hope a VP does their job and keeps the Pres in check (Sort of the exact opposite of Dick / Bush).

I was going to throw my vote away as a symbolic gesture to Ron Paul but now I'm voting McCain. I don't think there is any way she'll let gun control go though

I like McCain in the same way I like Huckabee, not as a candidate, but just as a general personality. Palin seems like I'd prefer her as a candidate to either of them, though she's still a bit too conservative for my tastes (being a libertarian myself). But with Ron Paul asking his supporters not to write him in, and with Biden being Obama's VP choice, I'm just about to the point to where McCain's ticket is no longer the lesser of two evils and more just a better choice. If we establish a solid time line for Iraq withdrawal before the election, that might also make it easier on me.

I am not fond of McCain... at all.

I will feel better voting for McCain/Palin simply knowing it could launch Palin as pres in 4 or 8 down the road.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I see the Liberterian movement as more of a spin off of the conservatives. Sort of like the Marxist movement is a spin off of the liberals (only the Marxists are in frim control of the Democratic party now). Libertarians and conservatives have a lot in common, libertarians just go further to the right than conservatives. One thing to clear up is that not even Barry is calling for a total withdraw from Iraq. I think only Paul is doing that.

Maybe in more ways than one? With the utmost respect of course.

If they take the office she will be the top spot in 4 years I think.
