Default 50 Bmg Penetration Test on Steel Plate

This 11/16 thick steel railroad tie plate was hit with two rounds from my .50 cal browning from a distance of 100 yards. The impact pocket in the middle is from a blue tip incendiary bullet (no penetrator) and the one high right with a pencil thru it was an armor piercing incendiary bullet.

just under three quarters of an inch.

which is nothing for a "regular" fmj .50.

ap .30-06 will do that as well.

you need to dig up some 1.5"PL and put that api to the test.
