Default My Current Project

It's not a gun, but it is gun-related. This is the coolest thing I ever got while deer hunting. I pulled this rusty 1967 Canada Dry vending machine out of the woods 15 years ago and it took me this long to figure out what to do with it.
It's about 80% on its way to becoming an ammo safe. It's cool how the shotshells conveniently fit in the reserve soda can rack. I'll be storing clay targets in the lower section once I get it painted.

The nice part is that the steel is decent thickness, and between the double-walls of this old baby on all sides and the door is fiberglass insulation, and not foam, so I think it would be pretty fire-resistant.

When $0.15 was actually worth something.

I'm not going to comment on you youngun's questioning the price of a soda...

With the way that it is insulated, I bet that you could put a dri-rod or golden rod in there and you wouldn't have to worry much about too much humidity screwing up your ammo either. Nice idea.

I like the fact that it's inconspicuous. Who in the world would ever get in a gun fight with you and expect you to have a vending machine full of ammo?

Who'd a thunk...

I like it!
