Tonight while at work I got dispatched to this. http://www.centredaily.com/mld/centredaily/16648856.htm
I can not repeat anymore information at this time reguarding the situation. So aside from me being astonished as State College is a relativly low crime town my question to everyone was... at 2130 hrs on 2/7/07 were you ready for this home invasion? |

I'd like to be more prepared...but the big all powerful university says carrying is bad for me
|

![]() I'm already somewhat paranoid anymore since i cant carry while attending classes. But given the recent string of events in State College i'm beginning to think about carrying my J-Frame anyway.

Links dead?
I found one article from 1-27-07, headline "Woman shot, killed in apparent home invasion" Is that the article? And....yes, that is what the 870 is for. And to quote my hero, Chuck Norris, "Chuck Norris doesn't sleep, he waits" |

Wow....I thought State College was fairly safe....
Throw that J-frame in a pocket holster. If it isn't against the law and they don't know about it, it isn't gonna hurt anyone. |

I'm ready My wife is ready Glock - ready Mossberg - Ready Hi-Point Carbine - Ready Colt Pony - Ready Kel-Tec - Ready FI .380 - Ready SKS - Accessible, but not ready Dog #1 - Not ready, must be poked to awaken him! (14 yrs. old )Dog #2 - Ready to bark/growl... nothing more - he's a chicken$hit! (But we love him!) All I can say is that while every situation will be handled differently OUTSIDE the home, when it comes to someone who lets himself into MY HOME, there WILL be "resistance" of a most determined and unrelenting kind until said person can no longer pose a threat to my family. |

I used to have second thoughts about the pistol on the nightstand, practicing moving about in a dark house with weapon and light,etc....
Not anymore-maybe it makes the wife a little uncomfortable, but uncomfortable is better than the alternatives. XD45-ready 870-ready AK-readily accessible with loaded mags. 'Nuff said. |
