Default Bystander shot trying to stop bank robber in Washington

http://kdka.com/topstories/local_story_037154640.html

Although there is no mention otherwise I wonder why someone unarmed would confront an armed robber.
I'm new to shooting in general, and once I have the time available during the week I'll go downtown to the courthouse in PGH for a LTCF.
I'm comfortable shooting at the range, but I need to take a class before I'm comfortable enough to carry.

Say you're carrying concealed at the bank during a robbery-what would you do?

It would depend..

If he/she is said they were gonna shoot me or someone else, he'd be playing catch with 8+1 .45acp rounds. Maybe more if he fumbled some..

If they did so peacefully, well he is more than welcome to go out the door. ..but I'd follow a little behind to see which way they went and what they were driving.

I wont play hero for money that is secured by the FDIC.

If i am not in danger of being shot and i see no direct threat to someone, (holding a gun but not pointing at people) then I'll stand back and let it happen. taking mental notes to give a description to the police.

now if he is acting hostile and pointing a gun at someone, shooting, or tying people up then, when its safe, and i have a clean shot, and I'm 100% sure, I'll draw and double tap him.

It very hard to say what you will do until you are in that situation. i hope i never am.

I'd have to take into consideration that my gun is under at least 1 shirt, secured by a thumb break, and decocked. If the guys already got his drawn I don't have a chance. If he's distracted and I can draw ... it's hard to say. I'm sure I could pull the trigger if someone was threatened, but I'll never no until it happens (hopefully it never will!)
