Default can't find the part

I have a 98 K in great condition that has been converted back to mil spec from a sporter. I am missing what I call the lower band. This is the ring, either stamped or milled, that fits in the groove in the handguard. The ring circumvents the barrel immediately in front of the rear sight. I have checked several 98 K parts diagrams and none of them show this ring. I have found the description of, "lower band, milled or stamped" in various parts lists but I don't know if this identifies the part I am searching for. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

Default Re: can't find the part

You might try E-Gun Parts (Numrich Arms) or give Brownells Tech Line a call, they are very good in whatthey do and have helped me with questions about parts for a Remington Model 8 that was built in 1907.
