Uh does anyone else read this and scream... Hello 4th amendment violation.

And thats just ignoring the whole "grandfather sections" with regards to Ex Post Facto law.

Oh well after reading the bill in its entirety i don't see how they ever plan on passing it. And if they do, well its time to challenge its constitutionality right away.

Somone had posted that Maryland is voting on their AWB for something like the 20th consecutive year.

I hope it doesn't pass. Our state gov't wasn't shooken up that badly. In november when they tried this with the last session it was shot down pretty bad if i recall right. I don't think enough antis took office to pass this.

Does CA or NY even require such? I know they must have it registered, but checked once per year?

Oh and did anyone read what the charge is for failure......................Felony of the 1st. I think that was HB30...not sure I read too many of them.

I would love to know how much in tax payer money is WASTED taking up time and resources on these ridiculous proposals.

I wish some lawmaker would put forth a 'Pennsylvanian firearm protection bill' which makes it illegal to propose such nonsense. That way we dont have to waste our time chasing these things down.

"Unless a citizen has a criminal record, they shall not be restricted from purchasing any firearm, in any quantity they can afford. Any bill or proposal that attempts to curtail this right shall be stricken from the record. The only way in which this right may be overturned is through a unanimous voter referendum."

I may settle for 75% referendum, but I still like the 100% odds better.

Only subset would be kowtowing to the 1968 and 1986 MG/SBR/SBS restrictions - not that I like them, but there they are.

And I know that the PA Constitution essentially says this, but we need something ironclad that people dont go 'Oh, but thats not what the Founders intended.'

Who's with me?

Amazing..

If this is what 2008 elections could bring to the USA, then you can guess where I will cast my vote in 2008.

Although this foolishness was shot down in November of 2006, the Democrats carry both houses in the PA government...so don't think it cannot happen!

Contact your representatives and senator...even if they sponsored this bill (especially if they sponsored this and other anti-gun bills!). If you're in a Gun Club, pass the word to those members as well. Remind those who say "Well, nobody needs an assault rifle" that these rifles shot one round at a time...just like any hunting rifle. If the state government can ban these, they can ban hunting rifles (all rifles) just as easily.
If you frequent Gun Shops...pass the word there too!

Massive mailings or other contacts with the members of the PA government will let the reps know where we stand...and how we'll vote in two years to end this BS, if it comes to pass.

Contact Rendell's office too. He's a lame duck, but still has teeth. He's also an ambitious politician who will want to hold other offices after leaving the governorship.

Having actualy clicked on the link and read the bill...

do you guys honestly think this junk would get passed??

Even if it were, wouldnt PA residents go down to city hall with their torches and burn it down to the ground???

Some of the language there is absolutely ridicoulous. This bill basically bans anything that goes Boom.
