How could this stand a PA Constitutional test? I mean it says that we have the right to keep and bear arms for defense, and that it will not be questioned.

Here they are QUESTIONING that right.

No they are not questioning our right to own and bear arms, only our right to own and bear the scary looking ones. I REALLY hope this doesn't pass, I haven't gotten my AK yet. At least I can keep my SKS.

You're missing the point. Gun control is a degenerative process that's a zero-loss proposition from the gun control advocates point. They lose nothing...you lose a right in tiny increments. Sure, they get the cosmetically offensive stuff you don't have now. But eventually they'll be back with the same arguements about your SKS. And then all your semi autos. Then your handguns.

Consider this: when was the last time a gun law got rolled back? When was the last time the gun control camp said they were satisfied, no more gun laws, and meant it?

If you don't understand this, consider this hypothetical situation: you're in a pond cooling off on a hot day and a fish bites you. Not a big bite, so you say no big deal...not serious...I like it here. After a while it happens again. And again. Now, you're accustomed to it. You expect and accept it. Guess what happens when the fish figure out you aren't going to put up a fight? If those fish are pirannahs, you're in deep trouble.

That is a perfect example. I have a pirannaha and that is exactly how that red belly takes his meal. He picks at it. Before you know it the fish is in two pieces and the pirannaha eats the rest of it.

I would like to know exactly what these bills say can someone post the details? Have they not been disclosed yet?

Would someone be so kind as to compose a letter and post it here so we all can customize it for our own rep? I'd like to send one, but right now I'm quite busy, and sitting down to right an intelligent letter may not happen...

Great idea. We need to mobilize and make sure our representatives know that we as citizens DO NOT want this legislature passed. And, my guess is we need to move quickly; it's possible that the Dems will try to "fast track" this legislation any way they can.

If your representative sits on the Judiciary committee then contacting them makes sense, it would definitely be best to kill these bills in committee. However if your rep is not on Judiciary it makes no sense to contact them before these bills are reported out of committee.

PA Rifleman, you misundestood my statement. I am a very sarcastic person, I meant it to be read with extremely outraged sarcasm.

I understand the point(s) of this legislation very well.
*they take a major step forward in the fight to ban all guns
*they will end up with nice little list of all the guns they wish to confiscate later
*sooner or later they will set the registration fee a little higher to gain revenue, then it will become another "tax" to raise whenever they need money.

I don't think this is a case of pirannha nibble, more like losing an apendage to a shark.

I am going to copy the bill into MS Word, highlight the critical parts, and take a copy to every gun shop I know of. Also I will be contacting my rep. asap.

Exactly how would that fix anything when it's just a matter of time before it'll happen there to? That's rhetorical.

Just finished highlighting HB 30. Got it down to three pages. If anyone knows how I can attach the word document I will do so.
