Carlisle Family Held At Gunpoint In Home
Robbers Threatened To Kill Family, Police Say

CARLISLE, Pa. -- A Carlisle family was held up at gunpoint in their home Tuesday morning.

Two men broke through a pair of doors at the Anderson family's North West Street home shortly before 4:30 a.m., Carlisle police said.

The men found the residents, 85-year-old Alice Anderson, 78-year-old Nedwell Anderson Jr. and 56-year-old Nedwell Anderson III in their bedrooms, police said.

Officers said one of the robbers threatened to kill the residents unless they handed over money.

Alice Anderson was also forced at gunpoint to show the robbers where her purse was located.

No one was hurt.

No arrests have been made.

I got five bucks that says they where scoped out. It seems to be a pattern where these coward punk criminals seem to be praying on the elderly more and more. Can't wait till one gets offed by an 82 year old lady with her husbands old .38 snubbie. Maybe then these cowards will think twice.

just read a story like that in the july 08 edition of The American Rifleman under "The Armed Citizen"...

In Georgia, an intruder broke down the door of an 81-year old guy...the homeowner had a .38 caliber pistol and shot the intruder when the intruder dove at him...but the intruder came back and dove at the homeowner again, so the homeowner fired a second time, killing the guy...

Excellent you pray on the weak and they give you a few extra orifices, that type of stuff makes me happy. Nothing like thinking I got an easy target here and it turns out it is your last target....priceless.

Let them try this at my house! Furthermore you make a very valid point regarding them being cased out. Just another reason to be aware of your surroundings. Rep sent!

Almost happened a year or so ago at a bar down the road from my house. The lady that owns it is in her 70's I believe, but she works at the bar every day. One night some young punk came in and tries to rob her. She pulled a .38 out from under the bar and the kid took off. He got busted a couple hours later. Sadly, I don't think he ever did any time. Can't say I'm all that surprised though.
