Can you trace your path to the bowling alley and the alley itself? Talk to the business managers and explain the situation and your concern. (maybe leave the gun part out) The idea being to locate possible video tapes that may have been running that night that might show these people. So it would need to be done quickly before the tapes are recycled. Just an idea. Sorry to hear of the scare but glad you were able to defend.

if you decide you want to stick with IWB, you might want to try one out. i have some other IWB holsters where i cannot get a proper grip while the gun is still in the holster and have to draw the way you describe. these holsters hold the grip of the gun right on top of the belt...and, thus, are better for concealment--my g17 literally disappears with them even when i bend over. however, the downside is exactly what you've described. the c-tac, however, holds the grip up a good inch or so above my belt. this means the grip prints when i bend over, but it also means i can get a proper grip while the gun is still in the holster just as i can with my OWB holsters. it is still considerably more concealable than an OWB holster, though, because the whole muzzle sticking out beneath the t-shirt issue is eliminated. at any rate, glad to hear everything worked out for you. nice job! |

On other points: I think the situation was handled flawlessly. Gun draw is always awkward under those circumstances. Cops aren't at fault here, IMHO. There's jerks in every city. I lived in NYC for like 20 years, never got mugged, despite attempts. Cops can't be everywhere, especially w trying to keep all the Dunkin Donuts covered too....

You probably scared the shit out of those teenagers. More than likely they'll strike again. Or maybe they won't. It's a tough call. It does appear that got a severe taste of their own medicine.

Glad to hear your fine, lets hope it sinks in for these kids that they could be in a body bag today.
Enough can't be said for situational awareness. |

Aren't stun guns illegal in PA. Therefore, these teens were carrying an illegal concealed weapon and the police weren't concerned!!! So much for Nutter's Police Crackdown.

Five feet from you holding a stun gun and activating it in a threatening manner would be grounds for a good shoot. Glad it didn't come to that!!!
Stun guns and Tasers are legal in Pa if used for legal purposes by private citizens. It only becomes a restricted item if used for unlawful or criminal means which these kids used it for. I CC a SIG P239 in a Galco Summer Comfort IWB and can draw quite easily with it. It is a very good holster, however it does not have any retention.
