what brand safe is that. If it can be compromised like that we have a right to know. I find no loyalty to a manufacturer if they dont disclose that. So who made that bad boy.

UL Labs list "all" of the market gun safes as consumer grade storage boxes. That in itself takes the glory out. Most of the really flashy safes are more paint then security.
If its a half decent safe that you seek, hunt down someone who sells safes that are from jewelry stores and banks. You can get a fairly decent one for about 2k, and with a little additional effort install the carpet and racks for about $50.00 more. Some of the safes I've looked at are double wall steel with concrete inside for the fire protection. As mentioned earlier though, any safe can be entered, but to attract the pros you would have to have items of extreme value inside. Safes like locks are basically designed to keep honest people honest. I've spent many months researching safes, ending up getting a consumer grade. Even that cost about the price of a few good rifles. I do sleep easier and feel more comfortable going to work. Additional security electronics along with the safe assist in sending the BG's scampering. |

The picture that was posted was done at my gun enablers when we had a gun safe promotion going on. If memory serves me right it was a 750 pound safe--I know that is a small one but the construction is the same on the whole line up to around 1200 pounds. We also opened some of the Walmart special 10 gauge steel cabinets with nothing more than a pry bar and mallet in a couple of minutes. grizz |

Exactly my thinking. I've done all I can reasonably do and it will deter all but the most determined crooks. It's the best anyone can reasonably expect me to do and I feel comfortable that I have done the right thing.

Well considering that's the diameter of the hole a robber would get after killing himself, unless if you had tons of handguns near the top your guns should still be safe anyway.
Me, I can't afford a safe. Opened ammo is in a mini-steel safe that my great-grandfather made along with clips. |

LOL Cure the problem, dig a hole in your basement, make an underground bunker with a safe door, then build a floating floor on it... no one will ever see it but you.
