Default Greensburg Gun show-6/21-6/22-no advertising?

I wonder why the PGCA doesn't advertise their gun shows on this site.
I know that there is one scheduled for 6/21 and 6/22 at the Event Center, behind Westmoreland Mall,1/2 mile east of Greensburg on Rt. 30.
They have had 2 shows there already this spring and both were well-attended even though little advertising was done. The January show really had a crowd on Saturday morning as the large parking lot was full and people had to park across the street behind the mall. The 8 foot aisles helped a lot, unlike the narrow aisles at Harmarville.
This is a large building(the old Shop-n-Save next to Dick's)and isn't cramped at all like it was at Harmarville. I didn't count the tables, but I'd estimate at least 350.All were filled at both previous shows.
There was a rumor that Walmart was going to buy the building and put in a Super-Center,but apparently that fell through.
I know that the show is still scheduled but why no advertising,so people can put it on their schedule,is a mystery to me!

I generally see the PGCA shows advertised on billboards. Once in a while on the radio. That's it.

Glad you posted this. I'll have to make a note of it.

Default Re: Greensburg Gun show-6/21-6/22-ADVERTISED !!

Well, they finally put an ad in the local paper on Sunday.
June 21 & 22.
Doors open at 8 AM.
Admission - $6.00
Number of tables = 550 (looks like I underestimated them. These are 8 foot tables).
All on one floor.
Plenty of restaurants within a mile.
Yes,it's still on !
A couple months ago, another professional show group had advertised a Gun & Knife show at the same location, but canceled it without announcing it was off. There were a lot of unhappy people showed up and found it locked tight.
The PGCA is pretty reliable, even if they don't advertise much.

There has been some controversy regarding another promoter who offered to take over management of the PGCA show. Apparently the negotiations broke down and the promoter scheduled a show at the same venue in advance of a show that was already scheduled by the PGCA. IIRC, that was at Harmarville. This might have been the same folks.

Here is a link to the PGCA site.

Dealer setup was today and I've gotten a report that there seems to be about 350-400 tables set.If so,that's a drop-off from the two previous shows.
It's still a pretty big show with quite a few out-of-state dealers.

Default Re: Greensburg Gun show-6/21-6/22-no advertising?

The show is history now.
Attendance was light on both days, probably due to the nice weather and the cost of gasoline leaving less money in peoples pockets. We have had a very wet May and June in this area, and people had a lot of outside work to catch up on.
It was a good show for buyers as dealers were more willing to negotiate and drop prices than they usually were.
Ammunition and other small items sold well, but gun sales were light except for Garands and Springfields. These that had realistic prices moved well.
The next show at this location is September 13th and 14th,2008.
Hopefully,Congress will have done something about the speculators in the oil futures market and gasoline will be somewhat cheaper then.
