Default Reciprocity Question......

Okay ... quick question just for confirmation.

I am headed to North Carolina. I'm looking at the reciprocity map and NC shows green / green. I read the reciprocity agreement between both states and all that jazz.

I feel confident saying that I can carry concealed in NC without issue.

Just would like some reassurance of my understanding.

Thanks in Advance

Just beware of the off-limits places in NC. They have quite a few more than you may be accustomed to.

Stack,

I am sitting at my place in NC right now. Yes, NC recognizes a PA LCTF but with some major differences from PA.

You can not carry into any place that serves alcohol. In Oriental NC every restaurant serves alcohol except one so I do not carry when I go out to eat.

If you are stopped for anything you are required to show your LCTF and let the LEO know you are carrying. As a side note I will say I have seen more traffic stops in NC in the past 5 years than I have ever seen in my life!

You are not allowed to carry anywhere that that you have to buy a ticket to get in (like a movie house).

Please know I am NOT an expert. I am an ex-truck driver. I do not claim to know all the laws. I am just offering a few things I read on PAFOA.

P.S. If you want to visit the prettiest place in NC come to Oriental. An old fishing village with less than one thousand residents.

Hey Jailkeeper... thanks for the great info.

I am headed down to the Outer Banks for a week. We rented a house for the week (ridiculously expensive) so it better be nice

Oriental sounds awesome! Just might have to make a visit.

Thanks again for the great info. I really just want to have something with me for the house. Since restaurants and ticketed events sound like a hassle I will avoid them when necessary.

Again - thanks!

Stack ~ I have friends who love the OBX. Went there once myself but found it to be overly crowded. Then I went to Topsail but again did not like the crowds.

Then again I spent a miserable week at Disney World last December. First time I was ever there. No, I'll never go back. Too many people!

I grew up & live in a town in PA with a population of just over 2,000. Guess I just don't like crowds.

Oriental is just my little piece of happiness; might not be yours. I have a friend who lives in Jacksonville and when a co-worker told her I was buying a place in Oriental her initial comment was "Why? There's nothing there!".

And that was my reason.

JK - We think alike.... if I could have ZERO neighbors I'd be a happy man. Unfortunately, my wife likes to socialize so I am forced to deal with humans on a daily basis!

When I first started coming to Oriental I stayed at the Oriental Marina Motel. I got to know one of the managers pretty well and he told me about a couple that visited from NY.

In any case they checked in and that evening the guy's wife called the office to complain. She said they had been there for 5 hours and had not seen a single security guard!

My friend broke up laughing and said there are no security guards in Oriental. Told her she could put a $100.00 bill on the hood of her car and nobody would touch it. Told her NOT to let a 6-pack outside because in Oriental beer is free game.

It really is a nice town. Zero polution. Zero crime. Zero anything noisy.

We think alike!!!!!!

It is sad that it has come this. Not wanting to be around people.
