BTW I agree with most of your rant about sellers but it also equally applies to buyers as well, especially on the internet, lots of trust doing a deal with all money upfront.

If you're gonna go cheap and do us all a favor by "offering to forum members first" before actually having to pay for advertising, it's only reasonable to expect idiots to come out of he woodwork who will also try to get something for nothing. Don't try to get the most bang for your buck (or in this case, buck for your bang), and then get offended when others try to do the same. Remember, people are going to find your ad searching the internet whether or not they're members of the forum, so if your time is too valuable to deal with cretans who don't give a crap what you think of them, take your wares to a consignment shop, let the dealer put up with the idiots, and pay the commission.

Oh yeah, and I agree with everything you said. Common courtesy seems to be a lost art sometimes.

I agree with ya, but for one thing. If you are not an dealer and you are selling it may be "unused" or "never fired" in box, but it is NOT new if it has been sold at retail previously. People who are selling second (third, forth)hand things that they claim are new in the box are my rant.

People who would never put their elbows on the table at Thanksgiving, who hold the door open for little old ladies, and put the seat back down for their wives turn into boorish, rude and under-developed swine when they see a 'for sale' ad on the internet.

This situation best describes motorists rather than forumgoers. I have never seen such a sample of people that include so many of the well-natured that ditch all that the moment they are in or around a vehicle!

Not everyone is an NRA grader or a gunsmith, so their imprecise terms are unqualified. Pictures aid in that choice of making that 100 mile trip just to see the firearm of some anonymous poster.

The advertised price is the price. Some people haggle, some don't. People who want to haggle over price will actually STATE that, either explicitly stated as such, or implied through a statement such as "Best offer".

If someone simply posts a price, then you can pretty much bet that that is it.

That's actually the biggest sellers' lie I have ever seen and appears only to be an attempt to work for a high-priced sellers market.

Did you know you can haggle with even Walmart? Yeah, I thought their prices were firm, too.
