Default Lead ban fear

I hope I'm wrong but I see an attempt to ban all lead in bullets in the near future. The worst of this would be what would happen to .22's. Does anyone know if there is a reasonable substitute out there?

No reason to have a lead ban, unless you keep these worthless schlubs in office.

THEY HAVE BEEN TRYING TO BAN LEAD FOR YEARS, LAST I HEARD MONTANA WANTS TO TAX LEAD SHOTGUN SHELLS 16 CENTS PER OUNCE. I DONT KNOW IF IT WENT THROUGH. BUT IF SHOOT SHOTGUNS I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO LOAD UP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, sorry caps lock was on...and load up on primers and powder....

I wonder if I should go to the group purchase site and post there.

Why an I not surprised? You should stock up on ammo just to have it, AND because it goes up in price all the time. But if they ban lead and have to make it out of other metals the price will go up even more.

Fear not. I have a plan to extract all the lead we need from the paint in imported toys from China.

The logic, as I understand it, was that people were shooting game, the game crawls off and dies somewhere, and is eaten by endangered condors. They showed X-rays of effected condors with lead shot in their digestive tract. Like to name a source, but I can't recall as I was immediately incensed at the fact that they were pushing such a ban. Or I might be unable to recall because of my exposure to lead.
